Anyone have some sleep solutions? Ambien works of course, but I don't like taking it regularly. I bought some CBDs but really don't know what to buy. Liquid melatonin seems to help... Suggestions?
I recently started taking that too, and it works great for 5 hours but then I wake up with dry mouth. Do you have that side effect?I've been taking Trazadone (doctor prescription) before bed for years. Works great. I used to have a hard time falling asleep, then would wake up several times a night and take an hour or more to fall back asleep. Now I sleep good every night and wake up refreshed & ready to visit HCP's wife.
Ever tried Zquil? It usually works for me.
If you're looking for a long term solution.... I got nothing.

1. Melatonin. You only need a partial pill about once a week or perhaps once a month. I've found the only guaranteed sleep remedy for me is exercising 5 days a week for an hour or so. When I switched to 3 days of more exerting exercise over 40 minutes, I started having sleeping problems. When I switched to zero days, it all went to hell. I've had others tell me strictly doing cardio is a good sleep remedy. I concentrated on weight training with light cardio, and I think the muscle recovery probably inhibited sleep at times. I'd wake up in the middle of the night with muscle spasms or pulsing. Usually, a midnight snack would simmer it down and help make me drowsy, so eating late can help induce sleep. None of the sleep aids mentioned help me, except Z-quil. I use that daily at this point. Surprisingly, it still works although it really only helps me fall asleep eventually, not immediately. Depending on your physical health, maybe you can't exercise 5 days a week. As I've gotten older, a few hours doing yard maintenance will typically knock me out easier that night. So, it doesn't necessarily take much, but I think going at it awhile is key.
Look at the bright side, at least you got stoned.@crandc, thank you. That is very helpful, and kind of you to take so much time writing it.
I do many of the things you suggest. Your insight that really helped already was "the worst that can happen is that you will be tired the next day." Good advice! Sometimes when I am up at 3 am, I can get into a panic about the next day, so that really helps. My sweet wife falls asleep in about 2 minutes, so lying next to her deep breathing so quickly can also up my anxiety level.
Yes, I also get earworms sometimes, strangely, it happens most if I happen to hear the soundtrack from The Producers. I swear! Damn that Mel Brooks can write a catchy tune. Ha!
I have sworn this week to get off the Ambien and that's why this is up right now. The melatonin and chamomile and no electronics is helping. Yesterday I went to the pot store and bought some edibles. I took those too last night. Apparently they were not cbds like I thought as I woke up 2 hours later totally stoned!
Instead, I have a wife who ruthlessly mocks those who buy into the scheme.I'm surprised nobody has mentioned essential oils yet. Somebody has to have a wife that bought into some stupid multi-level marketing scheme...
Good on your wife. I do the same.Instead, I have a wife who ruthlessly mocks those who buy into the scheme.
Don't knock them thar oils. They soften the skin and smell good. A combo made in heaven. Cheap at twice the price. It'll go good with my bubble bath and "Men's" fragrance that smells so wonderful on me. Now, I feel the need for a mud facial and the firm hands of a manly woman massaging away the day's troubles.I'm surprised nobody has mentioned essential oils yet. I'll have what he's having.a half an hour under the hood
