I used to be a devoted fan from age 10 to age 12. Believe me, it's as phony as phony gets. Guys actually get paid to cut themselves with a razor blade while wrestling. The crowd loves blood.
I remember Shag Thomas and Jesse Ventura. There were others I followed but their names have faded from memory through all these years.
Interestingly, Dale Thomas, the famed wrestling coach at Oregon State University, once challenged any pro wrestler to wrestle him using collegiate rules and no one took him up on it. Dale weighed somewhere around 200 lbs. and I'm certain he could have beaten any of them.
Oh yeah, I remember Big John Stud but he was after I was much older.

Puddles was at Cleopatra's Barge in Caesars. That guy can sing and the show was hilarious. Bonus was Kate Flannery from The Office (Meredith) made a quick appearance with him.
