would love to see. i would first love to see some during games. each game he has a chance to do something new</p>
 
He doesn't have a chance, big men never do. He doesn't have nearly enough air time to compete with shorter guards with bigger verticals. If there were a blocking contest, on the other hand, he would definitely be one of the favorites.</p>
 
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Big men in the dunk contest rarely work. The only one that ever has won I believe is Larry Nance...and he dunked like a wing player.</p>
 
Josh Smith won it and he is 6'9 which is the same as Sean Williams. He can win it easily if he gets help. With the creativity of Carter and the assistance of passes from Kidd he can be a beast. He can grab the top of the backboard.. Anyone think he can one-up VC and stick his whole arm in the rim??? That would win it single handedly</p>
 
I'd love to see him try. Dunk contests are about entertainment. LOL, Sean should do what Nate did with Spud, only over Carter..

What would you say if I argued that Josh Smith dunked like a wing player(with finesse, style), and Sean Williams dunks like a big man (with power)?</p>

Players like Sean don't generally win Dunk Contests, while players like Josh are usually favored.</p>

Dwight Howard should've won it last year, he had some of the best dunks...but he didn't even make it to the 2nd round.</p>

IMO most of the judges are pretty biased to shorter players.</p>
 
Just once I'd like to see a dunk contest using a moveablle basket. The one who dunks at the highest height wins. Would get boring after the initial novelty died down, I'd imagine.</p>
 
I'd be willing to bet that Sean could do a 360 windmill elbow-in-the-rim. I say go for it. Hell its almost guaranteed that you do better than The Birdman.</p>

Regarding your column about Jason Kidd and LeBron James ... At just 40.2 percent from the field lifetime, Kidd isn't a good enough shooter to be considered a Hall of Famer or all-time great (he would be the lowest-percentage shooter to get into the HOF by a wide margin), but he is magic running the point if he doesn't have to shoot the ball. Ever. It would be great for all concerned if he could get with a team where he doesn't have to shoot. I'd love to see him with LeBron, but most of LeBron's offense comes off his own dribble, not off cuts and passes.

Hall of Fame point guards Bob Cousy (37.5 percent) and K.C. Jones (38.7 percent) shot poorer percentages than Kidd. In the historical context, it's fair to note that 30 percent of Kidd's attempts have come from the three-point line, which has skewed his shooting. Three-point shooting is a much bigger part of the game than it was 15 years ago. Inside the line Kidd is a career 43.2 percent shooter, and if it not for the lure of the extra point, he would probably be taking most of his shots from closer range.</p>

But I'm not going to argue that Kidd is a worthy shooter. I definitely think he is a Hall of Fame player, however.</div></p>
 
would love to see Sean in the contest, have said this numerous times in the past. this guy has a future in the NBA, I can see him becomming a very popular player. the contest would really put him on the map, and hey, it might even make a few casual NBA fans say, "wow, this guy is good. let me see if I can watch some Net games now to see him" .

You do know, that after a certian time in the league, you can't be in the dunk contest. I think it's 4 yeard. However, I wish they would take the best dunkers. I mean, can you imagine; Carter, LeBron, Richardson, Kobe maybe.</p>
 
Sean doesn't strike me as a very flashy player (like RJ), so I doubt he'd do well unless he stuck to simple but impressive dunks (from the foul line, elbow in the rim, etc). I'd like to see that.</p>

He's big compared to the other contestants, who are usually guards. Plus, he doesn't have nearly enough air time or flash to compete with some of the dunkers in the league.</p>

Carter, Richardson and Kobe can all compete since they've already won the contest. You're correct about the 4 years rule (or is it 3?), but other than the youngsters previous champs can also compete. LeBron, for example, can't compete in the contest anymore since this is his 5th season in the league, while Carter can, despite it being his 10th since he won the contest in 2000.</p>

Oh, and that Dwight Howard dunk is sick. When it comes to big men in the dunk contest, Dwight is an exception.</p>

The only chance Sean has in winning the dunk contest is if Kidd throws a bunch of slightly off alley oops and he still recovers them for the thunder and even then it's probbaly not gimmicky enough for the judges. I don't see him having the arial ingenuity that Smith had to make up for some of the crap smaller players may pull off. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see him try but his chance of bringing home the trophy is kinda remote.</p>
