As of this morning where do your thoughts sit on the odds of the Blazers making a big deal (big defined as anything with RLEC)?

i thinks its 90% we move rlec

i said butler is our target all along. jefferson is if all else fails.

My guess is 70-80% chance.

Really, is there a better, more realistic target to go after this summer for us than Wallace or Butler? Because I don't see it.

At best, we can get a similar deal this summer. But why wait? Why not get that guy now and try to make a push this year into the WCF? LA or the Spurs might stumble, and with either of those guys we are right there to take advantage of it.

25-50%. I HOPE for a deal, but I know that deals are almost always less likely than they appear...

Ed O.

So long as we get rid of Sergio and T-Law so they can flourish on another team I'm down.
I love those guys, but we're just not using them right... and could use other defensive oriented players.

Honestly, I don't see much chance of a deal happening (a major one). I would say maybe 5%? It seems we are always a part in some deal or another before the trade deadline and we do nothing and just stand pat, I don't see the trend breaking here either. I would like to be wrong as I would love to get Wallace or Butler (Butler is more preferrabel to me), but if KP wants to play his way (which is not necessairly a bad thing) and will not co-operate with taking bad contracts or trading some of our potential players than no trade will be made. At some point this man has to learn to trade potential for proven players and not to fall in love with every young player.

I'm looking for the box that says "No freakin' clue."

This board is going to be hell when a deal doesn't go down.

butler and wallace are probably less likely than they appear, but i don't think getting some sort of vet presence for RLEC necessarily is. it's too big a chip to waste at this point.

This board is going to be hell if a deal does go down and it represents fair value.

Great point. Define fair value. Our valuation of RLEC has grown astronomically based on what we've read in rumors (and quotes from an unnamed GM).

Anything with more value than the Zach trade and I'll be happy.

I'm never like this, and only time I can remember being REALLY excited in anticipation in the last 5 years was the Oden draft... But I let myself get caught up, and am obviously set up for disappointment, but I can accept that. I think it represents sports to me... puts me in a great mood for 3 days, and most likely i will come back to earth the 4th, get a little sad and be on my way the 5th day. And I love it! High highs and moderate to low lows for me.

I think its about 60% we make a trade... but damn, if we don't... IDK if i'm going to come to this board for a week after the trade deadline... the fire KP threads will be out in full force... at least 5 separate fire KPs i'm calling right now.

I can see 5 separate threads calling for his dismissal from a single poster! ;)

I'll go on record and say I'll be extremely disappointed if we don't use the RLEC chip but life will go on.

I'm in the 25-50% range. Deals are never more likely than not, except in very rare cases. But I think all signs point to Portland being one of the most likely teams to make a deal. So I peg them at a significant chance to do so, but under 50%.

Well it may just have been down if the Game is accurate in reporting that the Wallace talks are dead... :(

I think I would be much mroe sad if we ended up trading for someone like Jefferson than if we just didn't trade at all.

How accurate does The Game tend to be, in its reporting of things that haven't been announced?

I think Jefferson would be a good starting SF for the Blazers. I'm not as high on Wallace as some and wouldn't be that much more excited with Wallace then RJ. I still would like Butler by far the best but doubt we can make a trade for him. I think a Jefferson or Salmons is the best we can hope to get at SF. You never know until the deadline passes and if GM's want the Rlec we still might get an great offer.

Not sure. Its owned by Paul Allen... has some Blazer employees workin' for it, and the Blazers are its #1 priority followed by Duck football. With all that said, IDK how accurate their info is, hasn't been a station all that long to build a reputation, imo.

Oh Lord Jesus I hope not. Caron/Wallace or BUST IMO!!! (and by bust I mean wait until the off-season)

Misinformation! Leaked in order for Charlotte to up the ante! PLEASE.

MIKSAID WANTS GERALD WALLACE.

Well, I'd be surprised if a Wallace deal has shut down prior to Wallace playing his first game back from injury...unless bad news about his health was just recently received.

I guess we'll see.

BeerBoy reported in another thread he just heard the Game say that. The game is a radio station though, so its tough to get a link i'd think.

.

My guess would be that The Game will be the first to report any trade news here in PDX. They have the inside scoop and they'll want to build a reputation as the best place to get Trail Blazer news.

I guess I voted to early. I voted 75-99% but if I was voting right now I would vote 25-50% with 25% being what I really think is the odds of a trade. I'm not upset if we don't make a trade but it did get exciting thinking we were after so many different good players. I still want Butler but I think that is almost impossible right now. I like Lee but it sounds like we would have to take Curry's contract and I wouldn't want KP to do that. Right now I think Salmons wouldn't be that bad if we could get him cheap: Frye + Ike. I hate to say it but I sort of agree with Mixum and RJ would be our best chance at a trade right now.
