so bad day to a blazer

Heart? Grit? I've seen very little of either in this year's team.

Olshey threw a lot of money at some guys and it sure looks like they got "fat and happy" so to speak.

Damian has heart and grit, but those aren't traits I'd attribute to the rest of the team. Plumlee plays hard but he's a limited player. This team gets sliced and diced defensively and out-rebounded on a nightly basis.

I grew up watching Porter/Kersey/Clyde/Williams so to me, that's what heart and grit is.

Blazer basketball is about heart and grit.

Our team plays very hard, but the opponent team just matches our work ethic for that one game and beats us. Meanwhile, all other teams play each other with smarts, not grit. That leaves much more energy for the end of the game, when it matters.

The radical Stotts system (of avoiding an inside game like it's The Plague...passing the ball to 20 feet out whenever our player has the ball under the hoop, instead of going up with it and getting fouled) works only when we both outwork and outshoot the opponents. So the other coach simply doesn't let that happen, and we lose.

We lead all game and CHOKE in THE 4 quarter.

What hell happens??? We suck! I lost all my hapiness because of this team.

We pay a lot for this suck players. Lead by 11 with 4 minutes and we still loss. Bad day to be a blazers. In my opinion If we can make THE playoffs we go out in 1st round. This team is trash, And Dame again made bad decisions.

So sadly

In English please.
I think I agree though

Not cool man. English is his second language. Perhaps you can read/speak/write in a 2nd language fluently, but most Americans can't even be bothered to attempt to pronounce a foreign word correctly (Mike Rice, cough cough). Bruno's English may not be perfect (whose is?), but it's quite good and gets his point across.

If you're so sure he already knew that Bruno isn't American, why did you spend so many words informing Blazedanugz of it? Similar to Blazedanugz, I didn't know, and similar to him, I have wondered why Bruno's posts are weirdly worded.

You obviously doubted your own false assumption that Blazedanugz knew, enough to explain it all to him while pretending disdain for him supposedly doing it on purpose.

Our bigs, again, forced to foul due to weak perimeter defense.

Plums 3 PF in 30 minutes, Leonard 4PF in 16, Davis 4 in 18:23.

Even Vonleh had 3 PF

When I posted on the ESPN Blazer board 10 years ago, we had a young guy posting from Argentina. He and I had some e-mail exchange before we got bored.

(I had humorously questioned whether he was really outside the U.S., so he posted his e-mail address and challenged me to use it so that he could respond and prove his location. Guy took it too seriously, but we wound up friendly.)

This is a brutal road trip. If we come out of it 4-5 or 5-4, I wouldn't worried at all.

1-8, we need a fire lit under us.

Stotts just can't coach defense. We will never be elite until we learn how to play defense.

this may be the worst group og bigs in the league and one of the worst in Blazers history. Neil went hog wild on guard/wings, decided to waste 40 mil on Meyers and left us with a horrible mix of players at PF and C
What's "funny" is that these are the exact same bigs we ran with last season. Literally the only roster change was swapping Henderson for Turner.

I'm not disagreeing with you, per se. But the level of play dropped off not because of personnel but because of motivation and coaching.

Bingo. Our offense is stupid simple, and relies solely on the greatness of Dame/CJ.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone is writing in a language they aren't fluent in.

Sorry for my english guys. Im from brazil by the way...

Its was a tough loss. We are almost there...

Don't trip about these ignorant Americans hating you bro I got you

So I see that this was the predictable shit storm thread following an ugly loss that shouldn't have been a loss. I was in a similar mood last night after the game. Glad I stepped away from the keyboard.

Trying to keep a bit of perspective on this. It was a back-to-back road game against a rested opponent and it showed, especially in the 4th quarter. No Harkless. Aminu coming back from injury and being worse than useless on the offensive end. So damned many missed point-blank shots. Dame and CJ both were totally off in the second half. Those things are situational and aren't indicative of a long term problem.

On the other hand, last night just cemented the fact that the Blazers have absolutely no answer for a team that has a talented scoring center. Fortunately, there aren't many of those in the league. It also seems to me that in both of the past two games opposing coaches have been able to make halftime adjustments to their defenses and greatly slow the Blazers' offense in the second half. Not sure if that's a trend or just something that happened in those two games. I'm beginning to wonder if coaches are sorting out Stotts' offense and are changing up their defenses in more effective ways.

While I am upset about how we lost last night, you've got to keep things in perspective. Last season at this point, we were 10-14, on our way to finishing December at 14-21. We wouldn't see .500 again until February 10th. It's still WAY too early to throw in the towel on this team.

I hear ya - and I fully believe we're going to win a bunch of games later in the season...especially when you see how soft our late-season schedule is. But, until the Playoffs I'm always more concerned with how we play than our W/L record. The way this team plays is abysmal. Making up for these losses with wins against lotto teams later in the season isn't going to do anything other than create a false sense of accomplishment.

It was even worse this time last season. Just sayin'.

Damn! This dude said he's from Brazil? Now my whole Borat thing is dead!

The team is simply not good. I'll still enjoy watching them and cheering them on, but this team has so many issues it really is unbelievable. They have so many different things to work on and try and improve to even make the playoffs, one of which includes Olshey trying to make a trade because this roster is very flawed in my opinion. But as has been mentioned the NBA is a marathon, not a race, we were in a worse position last year at this point, but turned it around. The guys can do it, but I'm worried about how many different things they need to try and improve on just to do it.

This team IS good......46 wins good. Not better than the Warriors or Spurs as some on here seem to think and don't get called out for it.

It's definitely too early to throw in the towel.

They just need to make a few changes to the game plan and get ready to kick ass for the rest of the month!

@BrunoSOC Your English is good enough. Must people here have no problem understanding you, and anyone who makes fun if it is an asshole.

StrenPokerDog is the biggest asshole on this board, don't listen to him.

@Tunchi Its funny how you know English is his 2nd language but you said "Don't trip" and "I get you" to him in one sentence.
