The dinner was basically a job interview for Miller. I'm sure he studied as much tape as he could, talked to people familiar with the team, and was therefore able to talk somewhat on the level of the coach and the GM regarding what he sees in the team, and more importantly, how he could make it better by helping the players get better.
I didn't find it so hard to believe. Miller obviously has a great court sense, and he probably crunches tape on opponents before every game. I actually feel that this information about Miller is the best reason to sign him. That he still plays at a high level is a bonus, obviously.
