He didn't 'unofficially' win. He was clearly the MVP of that all star game, but they gave it to Magic because he had HIV. No matter how Clyde tried to take the high road, I have no doubt that stung then and stings now.

No, this isn't the first time a Trail Blazer has won. Geoff Petrie won the One-on-One contest in 1973. Defeating Barry Clemens and earning $15K and $500 for each of his teammates.
Technically, it wasn't All-Star weekend because that didn't exist yet.

Magic is not completely cured. Thanks to medical advances, his optimal physical condition, and his financial means, his HIV titer is now no longer measurable. All that means is it is below where it can be measured using available technology. That is not the same as cured. He may well still be able to pass on the virus to others and should take the same precautions as any HIV+ person, for example, refraining from being a blood, tissue or organ donor and taking precautions during sexual activity.
