I've said this since June...
CJ = SGOTF
I don't know that this is necessarily true, at least for the Blazers. May be we trade him a year or two down the road for a position of greater need, especially if he turns into a Lillard clone. But otherwise in the future there are 96 minutes of PT between PG, SG and SF:
Lillard 35MPG
CJ 35MPG
Matthews 35MPG
Batum 35MPG
Misc 4mpg
None of those 4 guys are really one-position men. Lillard and CJ can play 1/2. Matthews can play 2/3. Batum can basically play 1/2/3.
The pieces fit together quite nicely, actually, provided they all stay healthy and CJ is as good as he first appears. It's about having 4 quality guys to man 3 positions, and one of them comes in off the bench.
I don't think he's a Lillard clone because many of his strengths are currently weaknesses for Dame. After watching him a bit, he has a much better mid-range game and I think he's better at finishing at the rim. He has a floater, while Dame currently does not. Lillard is definitely the superior shooter though.
Which is why he's the perfect fit next to Lillard.
He also looks to be not so undersized.

Yeah, he's bigger than I thought. He looked downright huge next to the super scrubs in Idaho.
What will you're guys reaction be to this kid when he goes 1-9 with 4 TOs in a game later this week?

Why are you hating on the rookie?
You realize that a guy like Mo, who is 31 and a former All-Star, has a higher set of expectations placed on him? CJ is a lottery pick and a damn talented player, so yes we have high expectations for him too, but people have been slowly getting more and more frustrated with Mo and Wright as the season has gone on.

I was under the impression that he wasn't hating on CQ, but rather was poking fun at the eventual bipolar swing most current CJ lovers will go through the first time CJ doesn't appear to walk on water. It's a good point HCP makes, we all tend to flip flop more than the footwear by the same name when it comes to extreme opinions of players from game to game![]()
Everybody in here are nut jobs.
BINGO! The rook gets me! Everybody in here are nut jobs. Let the kid play 25 games to make a judgement on him.
