Wrong. I should not have gone to Canada and I should not have spent a lot of money dodging the draft so someone else had to take my place. Maybe that someone else was me, dammit.

The FBI was serious about jailing draft dodgers. We had one guy brought in in handcuffs. The two FBI agents with him unlocked the handcuffs as he stood on the step of the bus going to Ft. Lewis. As far as they were concerned he was now the Army's responsibility. Life wasn't too pleasant during Basic training. But thank God our king rat never had to go.
