So NOW do you understand what I'm talking about??? We are a better team this year.

Last years team before Wes got hurt was much better. We won every game after the Afflalo trade and were killing teams with our own lineup of death; putting Afflalo in place of Rolo at the end of games. We would've had a legit chance to win a playoff series against any opponent. It all fell apart with Wes' injury.

I'm very excited about this years team. But I don't need to hate against last years team to feel good about it.
The question is would you rather have last year's team this year? It's not hating to answer the question.

It is interesting though; lets say Lamarcus tells Neil he wants to come back if we keep the same starting 5. We don't trade Batum and keep everyone else except Afflalo on the contracts they received elsewhere. We sign Aminu with the MLE and still trade for Plumlee.

Lopez/Plumlee
LMA / Aminu
Batum / Crabbe
Wes / CJ
Dame

Would you rather have that team going forward? Not really sure what is better theres a good case to be made either way. We are younger with what we have not and more financial flexibility. That flexibility is almost worthless with the rising cap. Infact it might be a negative as having any players who can play under contract seems better.
No...I wouldn't want Wes this season or Rolo..Batum would fit well with the roster..I love Ed Davis way more than Rolo and I like getting away from the Lamarcus offensive focus at the 4. Plumlee would score 20 a night with Batum feeding him assists.

But Plumlee and Aminu didn't play for us last year so that's a moot point when answering my question. I believe this year's team is better than last year's team going forward.

The difference just comes down to 4 few players

Lopez vs Davis
LMA vs Vonleh
Batum vs Harkless
Wes vs Hendo

Which group is better?

Its odd our bench was so bad but then this year CJ, Crabbe, Barton are all such big contributors.
Hard to get better when you don't play enough..our starters over the last years have led the league in minutes on the court..we're playing 10 man rotations for the first time in what seems like decades

We were 10-10 in the 20 games before Wes went down.

Yeah; LaMarcus, Nic and Rolo all had injuries plus that was a difficult part of the schedule.

We were 5-0 with everyone healthy after the Afflalo trade.

You can cherrypick all sorts of small parts to the season. Wes got hurt and that ended it all.

Well because Aldridge wanted to leave I don't want him here nor want him back. Fuck him.

But if he'd wanted to stay the whole time I'd rather have last years team plus Aminu as a MLE free agent and Plumlee in a draft day trade.

Wes' contract doesn't looks as bad now with the insane cap. Hell we're paying Varejao $20 million.

But I'm very excited about our core now and could easily see it playing out either way. What we have now could certainly be better than that group.

Yup. Just glad I didn't put any money on it. I did the waiting game, and can clearly see that they are a better team than last year.

*tips hat to KS* You saw it, my friend.

This year's team seems to have more energy. Which is a lot more fun to watch. We had the depth last year as well, but for what ever reason, Terry did not trust them as much. He played the starters too many minutes. This year he has nothing to lose by playing them all.

This year's team also is less deliberate IMO. It is a little harder to defend because there is more movement. And as of late we are getting more easy baskets by creating turnovers and running. Plus CJ is a better ball handler than Wes and Plums is a better ball handler than Rolo, so we are not trapped as much.

Last years team also had a less confident shooting Nic Batum. He bounced back late, but still it was not his best year.

Our bigs are not as skilled as LMA, but Plums, Davis, Vonleh, Aminu, Harkless all have move better than Rolo and LMA. So we are better defensively (as of late) against perimeter teams.

Last year's starter had more experience, played well together, and had one of the best post players in the game. Plus a great 3 point shooter in Wes. So it is tough to say this year's starters are better, but I think there is an argument that right now this year's TEAM could be better with the way the bench (Crabbe, Harkless, Henderson, Davis and Leonard have all stepped up at times)

The bench is really fun to watch on D this year......

I think this is the jist of what KS was saying.

We're 7th in offensive efficiency right now. Last year's team was 8th.

The year prior with a healthy Wes we were 2nd behind only the Clippers.

Last year Stotts getting the team to 51 wins with Wes injury, LaMarcus thumb, Rolo hand, Batum consistent bricks was very impressive. Remember we started Kaman for a month and Steve Blake played big minutes.

Our bench is so ridiculously much better this year.

I'm just love seeing these guys put it together as the season moves along instead of looking burned out..youth is an asset
Absolutely. This is when we sucked the last two years. This year's team is surging and winning 45-50 games is looking possible and a higher record ranking that is better than last year's 6th.

Still just don't see it. The last few wins are nice but they still lack the talent. Hard work is very fun to watch and will win games. On that you are correct.

Talent develops though..especially from youth. Vonleh...perfect example. Harkless..not so long ago nobody knew who CJ McCollum even was

This confuses me; results speak for themselves in most cases. Can you elaborate?

No, 23.

That is the big thing. They are growing and i personally would like to see them continue to grow. The best part is that we have been blessed with being able to watch it thus far. I still do not expect huge things this year from them but what i am seeing is great possibilities. This is Lillard's 4th year. He is doing things that Curry was only beginning to do in his 5th and 6th year already. CJ is becoming a threat to take over a game at any time. Plumlee is only a junior at this point also. How about we look at that? Plums is a third year big that is still just learning how to play against the very best.
Yes the Talent is developing and even though this year may end up one round out at best or even not making the playoffs there is lots of reason to be optimistic for sure.
