SO SHANE GREENE

New to posting Rick. Have been following along since the old ESPN board days. ;)

PS, I am the Ventriloquist Voice for Rick the dummy on my Knee....! Mon Apologies Rick...!

...lmao...so based on those hand picked stats, are you saying you'd rather have Drew than Prado?...and you'd rather have Gregorius than Drew or Prado?...and you'd rather have Eovaldi/Germain/Jones than Greene?

Unlike you, I don't avoid answering questions.
I said at the time of the trade and about Greene, I didn't like giving up Greene - in fact, before the trade was even made I pointed out last season how Greene pitched very well vs good teams. Cashman gambled (which is what most trades are) in acquiring a *YOUNG athletic type inexpensive SS. *remember? Yanks need to get "younger".
Younger doesn't necessarily mean better, but the Yanks (obviously) felt Didi has the skills to grow into a solid everyday SS.....maybe, maybe not....yet to be determined.

As for the Prado trade, it is done, Cashman gambled (which is what most deals are) on acquiring another young pitcher Eovaldi along with a LH backup DH/1b/RF.....and German 22yrs old who at the time OBVIOUSLY had outstanding numbers as a SP in the minors.

As for Drew, I'm certainly not thrilled with his poor BA but I stand by what I said about him PRIOR to the Gregorius trade which most disagreed with, I wouldn't have minded if they brought him back as their SS because I feel as if he is only two years removed from putting up good numbers and last year was a washout as he missed ST and didn't begin until May. He's now the 2b/ backup SS.

I think he can hit double digit HRs and hopefully hit about .235-.240 with a very decent SLG %. Some power and good defense should be good enough for a 7-8th place hitter.

How about if we wait at least a month or two more before deciding whether or not Prado and Greene would've put the Yanks over the top? lol
oops, I forgot, some already know the answer.
Sorry but I'm not going to live or die thinking about Greene and Prado all season long.

That's the point that has been made several times. Only Cashman knows the answer as to why he would resign Drew for second base and then put another offensive black hole at SS. A combined 14 for 78. Of course it's not all on them as Tex and Beltran are a combined 15 for 83. 29 for 161 for those four which obviously is killing this lineup. The bottom line is that Cashman's moves the last few years haven't been very good.

Just when I was about to give this post a B+ you had to throw in your usual touch of sarcasm.:gtfo: Unbelievable.

...gimme a break...you've downplayed Greene's early season success this year and you know it.
...and I have no idea what questions you think I've failed to answer.

...the "Prado deal is done"?...well no shit. And most deals are gambles"?...again, no shit. Yes, the deal is done, and and was not a good one....and yes, it was a gamble and was a bad one.

As for Drew, I'm certainly not thrilled with his poor BA but I stand by what I said about him PRIOR to the Gregorius trade which most disagreed with, I wouldn't have minded if they brought him back as their SS because I feel as if he is only two years removed from putting up good numbers and last year was a washout as he missed ST and didn't begin until May. ...so you finally admit that the Yanx would be better off with Drew at SS and Prado at 2B (or virtually anywhere else on the field) as opposed to DiDi at SS and Drew at 2B?

...no, you're gonna continue to live or die by cherry picking irrelevant stats and insisting on 90+ wins all year.

LOL, no worries. It was the same dino7430

Thanks Dino, hope you enjoy your time here........personally I like it alot better than the BSPN boards. That Board had way too many trolls, Homers, Bosox infiltrators, with a helluva lot less friction......

I totally agree. Much better. I thank you all for the welcome. Looking forward to a great season and lively "debates." ;)

^^^.... Amen,

its always nice to have additional posters, and input.....glad you boarded this Flight.......and have fun too....

New posters are ALWAYS a welcome addition Dino. Its just a shame that young guys like you & I have to put up with all the old farts here. But its either having them here or sending them back to there rooms to suck oatmeal through a straw.

^^^ "old farts"?....excuse me, but you probably have underwear older than me.

That some old underwear, likely head together by the last few underwear molecules. I would have predicted he has a hemorrhoid and bunion older than you....likely from a lifetime of kicking himself in the ass....but I digress.

Welcome if you can answer these 3 questions:

1. Did Cashman execute a cogent plan this past off-season?
2. Should Yankee fans ever accept and/or embrace AROD in pinstripes (unless the stripes are horizontal)?
3. Name your all-time most favorite Yankee and Why.

no
no
Mantle, because he's was the reason I became a Yanx fan in the first place.

^^^^^^^What he said but because Mantle was one of those players where whatever you were doing you stopped when he came to bat. I can't say that about many players.

Tex has been okay - I can't complain about him, hitting a few HRs, driving in some runs, OPS .883. Actually similar to last year at this point, but he faded (wrist still bothering him?) as the season progressed, if he's physically sound I think he'll have at least a respectable season (numbers).

Beltran
has been hurting the team and as "early" as it is, I'm a bit concerned about him, he just doesn't look right.....but maybe the Yanks have found something good with Young.

I think, I hope Young has found a "home" and is making the most of probably his last best shot at rejuvenating his career.
Lol, he loves it here and looks like he's been here for years.

...Chris Young is a hard one to figure out...everyone else gave up on him and though he's a very capable fielder he's also never been offensively as good in his whole career as he's been with the Yanx.
...whatever he's doing differently, he'd better keep doing it.
