I love what he's done with our players and I love his quotes after games. I'm happy with him (I know Nicolas is too). Thoughts? Anyone want to call him names or run him out of town yet?

Phil Jackson is raring to beat the Lakers.

He's a defensive-minded coach in the mold of McMillan.

I'm just happy that I don't have the ability to know who the ball is going to and what plays are being called. Nate was terribly predictible. Scotts is unpredictible and has multiple plays designed on offense.

I wish Scotts could bring up the level of D though. I think a lot of it has to do with timing though. I suspect the D will get so much better by mid season.

Say it with me: "Stotts!"

Olshey: A
Stotts: A
Lillard: A
Leonard: C+

Yes, Stotts has been good, but not our only HR this offseason.

He seems to communicate well with the players and has a reputation as a teacher. So far, I am impressed.

He's a .500 coach who is content to let LMA settle for jump shots.

 He isn't Mo Cheeks bad, but he is no savior either. I agree with the wag who said his nickname should be "interim".

I don't think anyone here expects Stotts to lead this team to a championship, but he's definitely a step in the right direction. Nate was too predictable and he'd lost the team. The players are listening to Stotts and learning. The team will win more games than last season, and they are much more fun to watch.

I'll take that for now. When the roster is ready to contend, then I'll start hoping for a proven winner to come in and guide them to the promised land. I hear Phil Jackson is available and would REALLY love to stick it to the Lakers...

BNM

rotations seem decent. and usually effective based on the situation.

And you come to that judgment after what, 10 games? I think I'll wait a little longer before deciding he's not the coach for us.

I'm happy so far. We still do go through LA a lot which is what we did before, but we have much more movement and don't always do that. I think our D will improve and that'll even help our O more.

Look at the unleashed fury. Let us resolve to never again hire a slowdown coach.

He's too tall

I'm waiting for someone to call him coach snotts. Or once a month he can be coach spots.

I like the guy. Creative on offense and let's the players play. He D is suspect, but this early and with our team it's somewhat understandable.

In 5 games, he'll be a .667 coach.

You guys need to give him some time. Why are we complaining about defense?
We are paper thin at every position... any of you expect our 4 starters to die by February? This team is not ready.. let it bake..:devilwink:

What do I think of Stotts?
Magnitudes superior to McMillan for one.
It's refreshing to see the team utilising an offense that actually looks NBA caliber, as oppossed to that trash we had to watch for years during Nateball.

Ousting McMillan was the best thing the club could have done, and I think Stotts has done an admirable job so-far.
Hopefully the defense becomes a little more stalwart as the guys learn its nuances.

His reputation coming in was decent at offense, mediocre at defense. That's right so far. Any new coach would look good in comparison to the high school offensive system we had.

Whether he succeeds, it's far more entertaining now to watch.

I am really, really hoping Kaleb gets a job somewhere else so Stotts can bring in a real defensive coach

I find myself myself enjoying watching the game again, even in a loss. So if he responsible for that then Im good for now. However it does seem like part of it is about him looking so good compared to Nate.

I like Stotts It's just to damn bad Oshley and Allen will can his ass in a few years and promote Kaleb Canales.

I like him. He knows this isn't an overnight process, that he can't come in and based on his brilliance, will and ego save the day, today. He's taking his time and trying different players in different ways. He's smart, he's creative, and he's adaptaptable. He's not afraid to stray from the 'one and only way to do things'. These are just broad characterizations off the top of my head. I don't need details. He's capable of filling in the details and his knowledge, approach and adaptability is what makes him a good coach for us.
