So what "VET PG" do we go after?

Brooks would be a nice little offensive firecracker.

Delonte needs to be kept far away from this team. He adds very little and he's a knucklehead.

Aside from being a better an equally as good, if not better facilitator and better defender, while being almost just as good offensively... yeah, he adds very little in comparison to Aaron Brooks, who has been benched...

Have you guys ever looked into Aaron Brooks numbers? 5 assists to 3 TO's when he was a starter...

Delonte is crazy, but is talented, didn't cause issues with Dallas, and its okay to have one shaky character amongst a bunch of other stand up guys. I'm kind of tired of us only having a bunch of pussies on the team, anyway.
Meh, that'd work great on a team of vets, like him with dallas. No desire at all to bring him in here around a roster of like 11 rookies.

Kinda sad that our 1st round pick of last year is not even in the conversatoin of being worthy to be our backup PG.

I think Houston currently has Shaun Livingston, but will release him/buy him out to get Howard. He might be interesting.

Regardless we need three Pgs. But you never know what could happen. He could very well improve enough to win it. He still has summer league and fall camp to get better. Last year was a bit of a cluster fuck to completely write him off.

Delonte's a puke, doesn't fit our team. Keep him, his guns and Lebron's mom away from Portland

Randy Foye?

has a history with Olshey and I think is still available....

Delonte West is a strong defender and a better facilitator than Aaron Brooks.

Career per/36 assists.

West 4.7
Brooks 5.2

2010-11 - Brooks 6.7 per/36
2010-11 - West 5.1 per/36
2011-12 - West 4.7 per/36

Where are you getting this from? The stats don't agree at all with your opinion.

West is a much lesser passer than Brooks, especially now that Brooks learned how to play the point.

ASST% - Brooks 29 in his last NBA season with one season under 23; West has never even hit 24 in a season.

I would bring back Flynn. He was an okay change of pace last season.

Two words. Taurean. Green. He's worth at least four victories.

1) Let's ignore the fact that Delonte never truly played PG on any of his teams, for the most part. Lebron, kinda did with the celtics, and sorta did with the mavs (used him similar to Jet), and he never really had the minutes or scoring opportunities Brooks had.

2) Now, lets see the turnover per 48 ratio...I'm guessing they are fairly similar, yet Delonte is a much better defender and played SG as well as PG and dished out just as well as Brooks.

I'd say someone who won't mind playing no more than 20 minutes off the bench and has the skills to mentor Lillard, who should be our starter from day one.

So he's a better passer than Aaron Brooks, but no coach has figured out how to bring that out in him?

LOL

He didn't "dish out" as well as Brooks though. He never has as an NBA player.

I'm not even sure West can be a primary ballhandler, actually.

If you don't like Brooks, fine, but every statistic about your opinion on West being a better distributor than Brooks is contradicted by stats that are not that hard to find.

Brooks or Mayo would be fine. Either direction you go, Bring them with the understanding that they will be coming off the bench in substitution for either the point for two guard.

Too busy to look up stats, but at any rate - he has a higher A/TO ratio, does he not? Coming from a 1/2 combo guard, yes?

Even so, he may be a slightly worse facilitator, but a much stronger defender.

I keep thinking it is going to be Randy Foye, Olshey a history with him, he is one of the better guards out there that I can see....There was some mention of Derek Fisher....I would be surprised if he ended up in POR though...

Phil Jackson, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher? The Los Angeles Blazers of Portland?

With Roy playing for Minnesota it would have some nice synergy

Foye isn't a PG, though.

id like a delonte type, some toughness, not gonna lose games for you, and will fuck your mom/carry a dozen guns around

We still have enough cap for a lopsided trade, yes?

Would about Greivis Vasquez? he was very solid last year and can legitimately play both PG/SG. With Gordon/Rivers locked in, it's worth a shot.

Is Dell Demps really going to trade the only real point guard on his roster? Who do we send back that would interest him (and Monty?)
