I'll try to post a trivia question every day or so. If you're gonna cheat by googling, fine, but keep it to yourself and give the others a chance and don't post the answer here. Some questions will be gimme's while some will some will be difficult and I may give a hint.

The winner's prize will either be a bag of Chee-tos or a Marv Thronberry trading card.

Today's question;

What team won 26 consecutive games ........but finished fourth ?

The correct answer is the 1916 New York Giants.

Wow
26 consecutive and a 4th place finish, insane!
McGraw's Giants must of dug a big hole for themselves.

I just looked at their Season-
Started the first 15 games of the season 2W-13L
Then they reeled off 17 consecutive wins from the 16th game on.

Then 26 more consecutive through September.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt any team in the history of MLB has ever had two long win streaks in one season? And only a 4th place finish to boot...whoa.

Okay, I'll give a hint, it wasn't in the last 75 years...and there is a cocktail bearing his name.

Next question; Who hit the only game seven World Series walk-off home run. (this should be a gimme)

Next question; Who are the four players who hit World Series homers in three different decades ?

That should say home runs in four different decades correct?
If four decades is what you're looking for, then these are the 4 men....

Splendid Splinter Ted Williams.
Willie stretch McCovey.
Rickey Henderson.
Omar Vizquel.

I only know this because I listened to a radio show a year ago with Omar. The longetivity of these guys was touched upon.

To be fair, it's a very difficult question so I'll amend the question so that whoever can come up with 2 of the 4 names, wins this round.
