after last night some people may think I am crazy...but the guy really can play and I think woud fit perfectly with us.

Iman Shumpert....guy is a good 3 pt shooter, real good defender and very very athletic. complained last night about how there is no ball movement and could be had for cheap right now. plus hes young. it depends on what we would have to give up but having him come off the bench for us with mo Williams strictly running the back up pg we would be sooo tough. it would help our defense out no doubt.
Wesley Matthews has to come back to earth eventually, doesn't he?

We will give them Leonard! :D

He's a total train-wreck this year. Maybe it's just a confidence issue or something fixable, but I'd be in no hurry to go after him.

I don't think we should make any trades. Bring back CJ when he's healthy and let the lineup work itself out. It's going to be hard enough finding minutes for CJ.

this is why I think its a good time to go after him. dude is talented but he hates being on the knicks and sound like he hates playin with carmelo

OK ... but what does it say about his mental toughness if he can't produce when things aren't going exactly his way? That sounds more like a prima donna to me than a competitor.

To get Meyers out of town I would sign up for anyone decent

The thing is, our starting rotation is set, so that means you're looking for pieces to come off the bench. Realistically, what do we need on our bench? Mo and Wright are the scorers, and when CJ comes back he'll help with that role, so what else would you target as a need? Freeland is the gritty big, Robinson is the enigmatic athlete, and then we have a few guys that can punch in when needed like Barton and Watson.

hes an above average defender also. he would fit in perfect with our flow offense as well. a strong wing to come off the bench I think is something we are still missing. in all honestly I don't think cj is going to see the floor much when he comes back

I really don't think it would be a problem. did you see the entire knicks team last night? they all looked checked out. I don't think its him being a prima donna...I think its just bad culture through out the organization

:dunno:

I don't watch the Knicks enough to say for sure.

I really just think that the he would buy into the culture and chemistry of our team

Why? What gives you confidence to believe that? It seems like you'd actually have to know a person and talk with them to get that.

I have heard he was pretty good. I did not see it last night though. I was expecting more. In any case I assume he is decent, but I think the Knicks are hoping for more in return than what they will get.

We don't need more guards. Our guard rotation is excellent and set. Matthews is an outstanding 3-point shooter and an excellent defender. He's a great teammate, fits in well and plays with a lot of heart.

Don't fix what isn't broken.

Shooting Percentages:

Career:
Wesley Matthews:
.449 FG%
.402 3FG%

Iman Shumpert:
.399 FG%
.348 3FG%

Current Season:
Wesley Matthews:
.556 FG%
.506 3FG%

Iman Shumpert:
.400 FG%
.343 3FG%

No thanks. Shumpert wouldn't even be a good backup for Wesley. Keep what we have. There is a reason Knicks are 3-10 - their players suck. There is a reason we are 13-2 - our players don't.

Things are going great for the Blazers now and you hate to mess with anything (or even think about it) during an 11 game win streak.

But last night showed me that the bench needs more help than I thought. Besides Mo, Stotts isn't real comfortable playing someone over 25 minutes a game. Without Mo getting his 30 min/game, starters had to play more minutes (Mo's production made up by starters not bench players). Also points off the bench went back to looking like last year.

I think the Blazers need 1 more guy they can play about 20-25 minutes a game to lower the starters minutes. I thought Wright or T-Rob would be that player, but they don't seem to be doing the job enough for Stotts to feel comfortable leaving them on the court for extended periods of time.

Love the game last night, but raised concerns about how thin the Blazers are.

Didn't he have knee surgery this off season and tried to hide the fact from the Knicks?

I'm surprised at Wright's limited minutes. I thought for sure he'd be playing closer to 20m a game. Hopefully it's just a slow process and he'll become a more integral player as the season progresses, so that the starters can get more rest. But to this point, in the games I've seen him in, he's been quite average - nothing bad, and an occasional good play. It's tough to take out a dynamic player like Nic, who is such a huge part of the offense. And it seems like Stotts likes to keep Nic on the floor when Lillard/LMA sit.

Until this season, Shumpert was very good at both offense and defense, by Knicks standards.

Ever since Frye, I've known that the conversion from Knicks to Blazers is like pesos to dollars.

No trades right now. Will be getting a potential starter with AJ. We can get another lights out shooter in the draft.

Who's AJ? Did you mean CJ? Secondly, we probably won't have a draft pick this year.

Horrible idea

really? horrible idea? to look into getting a possible steal depending on what we would have to give up? don't throw out an uneducated response if you don't know much about the player. Ive watched a lot knick games over the last two years. he would be our second best player off our bench, maybe better then mo depending on what part of the game you value the most. if you think our bench is really that good then I guess yea horrible idea. but we'll see what happens if one of our gaurds goes down.
as for anyone who is talking bout his knee surgery over the summer...he didn't miss much time did he? I love cj but he hasn't played a minute yet and is coming off his second broken foot. I don't think injuries is much an argument against iman

He is not a good basketball player.

PER 10.8, 11.7, 10.9.

He shoots .399 from the field, although he is a good 3 pt shooter.

79% career FT shooter is worse than most of our rotation players

3.1/1.9 career assist to TO ratio

Defensive rating and win shares have gone down each year

So please don't call me out for being unedumacated.

He is amazingly the best young asset the Knicks have. They think more highly of him then we think of CJ. They think he is worth a Kenneth Faried level of player.

I’m not convinced he should be in any rotation of a respectable team. Is he better than Dorrell Wright? Maybe, but maybe not. A trade for him makes no sense. Plus I don’t see this Blazers team making any trade until they have a period with a few weeks of losing. A trade sends a horrible message to the team right now, our bench is buying in and supporting the starters. They’ve worked hard to be ready, our third string guys have done all the work and not complained a peep about minutes. They should be rewarded with enjoying this winning streak while it lasts.

Now If the Knicks wanted to drop Iman for cap room, or a second round pick or something sure we should look at taking a flyer. But they don’t, they view him as their best young asset….. YUUUCK
