<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>yeah, Thorn is going to go out and trade for an undersized, often injured 21 year old point guard when he has Harris and Williams, who doesnt suck by the way.</div>
I don't really get to watch the games, and from what it sounds like, it wouldn't matter because Marcus doesn't play much anyway, but why do we now think Marcus doesn't suck?
He hit the rookie wall hard last year and still hasn't really recovered. I understand he's rehabbing injury, but I've heard he's just looked bad, and that includes the mental aspect (something that probably should be improving). Add on to that the whispers here and there that the team isn't thrilled with his work ethic.
He's naturally talented, but there's lots of talented guys who end up being mediocre or overrated basketball players. It seems like Marcus' best case right now is Jamaal Tinsley, and if that's the case, yeah, I think we should be in the market for a new point guard.
Plus, Lowry just seems like a good locker room guy, someone who'll push everyone else to work as hard as he does. That's something Marcus will never, ever be.

HE BROKE HIS FOOT...REPEAT, HE BROKE HIS FOOT.
Lowry lost most of last year, yet people are willing to suggest he is better than Marcus Williams???
Lowry is a college point guard with limited ability or stature to make it in the NBA.
Lowry "just seems to be a good locker room guy". Translation: you're guessing.

I agree that he's undersized, and the foot injury is spooky, but it's also a broken bone, and those tend to heal completely. He had an ACL tear in college, but that was his freshman year - he's had plenty of time since then and it hasn't come up. He's played every game this year (although without particularly impressive stats - looks like he's still recovering).
As far as the "locker room guy" thing goes, the idea was planted in my mind with this TrueHoop post:

His draftexpress scouting report mentions his energy explicitly. Makes him sound very "Kenyon Martin"-esque.

I want him for the same reasons I want Joakim Noah - I want guys who care about winning more than personal stats.
I don't know if he'll be a better point guard than Marcus Williams, but I know he's boom or bust - if think that if he's not a star, he's not going to be a particularly productive player. I'm positive Lowry will be a better role player, if it comes to that.
