The following was in a Heat oriented article.

This does not necessarily mean that Miami's roster for next season will have the exact same faces as last year's. There may still be room for some tweaks. A financially-sound trade Riley could consider is to trade Udonis Haslem and the $3 million trade exception he acquired in the O'Neal deal in exchange for Steve Blake. Blake may be the ideal person who can challenge Chalmers for his starting position. He isn't as good as Raymond Felton, but he's far better than Quinn or Marcus Banks, players who "competed" with Chalmers during training camp last season. Blake also has an expiring contract, meaning that he is 2010-friendly.

Haslem is probably worth more than just Blake, though. If Riley doesn't value the $3 million trade exception, he may be able to add Channing Frye to the deal. Frye has fallen out of Portland's rotation in his second season with the Blazers after a couple of promising years in New York. The 6-foot-11 Frye should rebound the ball better, but he may not be that much of a liability if he is Michael Beasley's backup.

Portland may be willing to deal Blake if it wants to develop Jerryd Bayless or search for an upgrade at the point through free agency. The Blazers may want Haslem because Brandon Roy said that the missing piece to his team may be as simple as a "rebounder in back of LaMarcus [Aldridge]."

Unfortunately, though, this would not be a trade to compete Orlando, Cleveland or Boston in the East. But with the Heat in the cash-strapped position it is in, what better is there?

There's the veteran back-up PF who can rebound, but it sure leaves a gaping whole at PG (Sessions, anyone?).

Just seems like a "thinking out loud" post from a blogger. This has about as much validity to it as if one of us started our own blog and said "Cleveland may be willing to part with Lebron James, and let's be honest, Nike is right here in Portland so it could work."

Haslem has started 386 of the 439 games he's played including 75 for 75 last year. He's averaged 31.5 mpg including 34.1 per game last year. I don't think so.

Photo of Haslem from what used to be the Fifth Avenue Suites in Downtown Portland, high and hanging with a couple of sluts:

A couple years ago after the Heat played the Blazers at the RG, Haslem and Ricky Davis met up with some underaged girls and got high and drunk with them in their hotel room at the 5th Ave. Suites. One of these dumb chicks posted the pictures on her MySpace page. Now they're all over the web.

lol how do you know they were high and or drunk?

Signing Sessions with the cap room and then doing this trade (not like it's a real proposal, though) would be a pretty fantastic summer, IMO.

they don't look underage either..i guess probably underage to drink but i was assuming soda meant under 18

Yeah, no the rumor was they were under legal drinking age. Not the age of consent.

That's funny, because I was just thinking of getting Haslem for Blake a few days ago. Haslem definitely fits the mold of the type of "banger/good rebounder" we've been wanting in a backup PF. If we traded Blake for him, we could then cut Travis, and renounce the rights to Playboy and Freeland, but then we'd have to go all out for a PG, like Miller or Nash.

But I think we could do better with our resources. Haslem is in the last year of his contract, and how much do we want to pay for our backup PF?

I like Haslem's game. He's like a more muscular Channing Frye with his ability to hit the 15-foot jumper, but is a hell of a lot tougher than Channing and wants to bang and throw his body around inside. Provided we get a PG to replace Blake, I think it'd be a worthwhile and realistic trade. And Blake gets to go home (sort of) since he's from Miami.

Blake isn't going anywhere -- KP calls him "Blakey" for chrissakes, GMs with pet nicknames for players that end in "y" don't trade those players

Miami is hurting so bad at the bigs position, they play Haslem at center.

So they're going to trade him for a PG?

Doubtful, IMO.

Is that true? What about wives? After reading this I am rather concerned that my wife calls me Tim, not Timmy. My grandmother called me Timmy and one time............oops med check.

What team is your wife a GM of?

Asking a guy what team his wife plays for. That's uncalled-for. :sigh:

;)

I do not know - a wife that is only a GM seems like a good thing to me. Most wives are commissioners holding power to implement whatever crazy idea they want and impose punishments as they wish. I was just paying him a compliment, I think :devilwink:

I like this rumor you say a local forum poster is the source? Seems solid. LBJ to Portland eh...
