Sorry haters, but this season went down long before Oden went down.

But the team started playing badly BEFORE Oden went down.

What's your point? Am I denying that Portland misses Outlaw? No, I'm not. I'm saying Oden's loss hurts more. Outlaw's injury drained the depth. Oden's loss potentially makes us a lottery team.

. . . waiting for a post defending Steve Blake's play. . .

The teams problems were always there, even in preseason. Losing Oden, TO, Rudy and Batum just accentuated the underling problems with defense and lack of a coherent offense.

The loss of Outlaw hurt, as it took away a guy who could create his own offense when everybody else was stagnating, and it hurt the team's depth at 2 positions.

Was it "the" turning point? IMHO, that happened during the Roy contract negotiations. *Something* poisoned the team's best player, and set off a chain reaction that injuries have only aggravated.

KingSpeed,

I just recently discovered this board and haven't been here long, but with each and every successive post of yours, it amazes me the lack of knowledge you have of the game.

Your man crush on Steve Blake has led to the conclusion that you are actually Steve Blake himself OR you are Nate McMillan...

This season went down when Assclown made Blankey a starter.

Actually, when he waivered in preseason about it.

The farther I think back about the end of last season to the start of this season and to now, it's been one big clusterfuck. There's been nothing but tension for the past 5 months around this organization.

Check.

Actually, my first reaction to the OP was that the season went down in pre-season when Nate choked on Brandon's unit. oldman and mm covered it.

Oh yeah, and dont forget to make this thread about yourself with the "Sorry Haters" addition to the title.

Way to rock the caricature of yourself avatar too....you're soooo awesome, and obviously more famous than Travis Outlaw

i actually think TO's loss has been a huge impact on the team. he was often that guy to hit a big shot, string a few together, get some energy onto the floor etc. i dont think he is the reason we went on the dip but its definitely a factor imo.

the numbers dont lie though, when greg was being fed by andre - we were winning. gregs out, blakes in - we suck, pretty simple.

I think I suck the worst at the positions of the game but at least I can work and understand facts and so far Steve Blake is the worst of the point guards of this season especially in the PER department.

Without having Blake traded this season this season will be in a tailspin. If we get a better PF or Center in a midseason trade this team will barely hit 30 wins this year.

Learn the food. Then post.

Ed O.

This is honestly the best post I've seen all year. Minstrel deserves partial credit because his post led to it, but Ed knocked it out of the park.

On that day, I made a sandwich. It was pretty good. The team was 8-3 on that day. The season has gone downhill since then. The drop-off happened directly after I made the sandwich. That is just facts. Clearly the sandwich caused the Blazers collapse.

If you don't think so, you clearly don't watch the games.

Sarcasm and derision. This post is S2 in a nutshell.

I pretty much disagreed with everything in the original post, which is weird because it was even including you saying he wasn't playing that well this year. I actually was really liking how he was playing at the beginning of the year. Oh comedy.

We also had a cake schedule early on. Oh you and your conclusions.

Also, I think it's fun to note that you include the game where Travis played 1 minute and we won as part of that 8-3. Good work.

Sarcasm, sure. No derision in that sandwich.

I'm sure you haven't been sarcastic (or derisive) on this forum. ;) Be the change that you want to see in the world, PapaG!

When a poster makes a good, honest and civil attempt to discuss something, I don't tend to be sarcastic. When a poster starts off his attempt at discussion with "Sorry haters" and continues to engage in the same logical fallacy he uses constantly, I don't think a mildly sarcastic post is unreasonable.

Why do you have to be such a jerk Minstrel? :sigh:

Producers, please. Don't toss my red title into his world of purple-oozing sarcasm and denigration.

You never asked what we "produce." Evil. That's what. Suckers.
