Sounds like Phil Jackson wants back in the game...

He'll probably end up in NY or the Clippers. How funny would it be if they fired Del Negro and hired Jax to coach LAC.

I think the Clippers isn't the type of personnel that he wants for a title team. NY is a good place though. They have the type of talent he needs to be the winning organization.

he'll only coach the top 3 talent in the league. Miami is fairly safe. OKC perhaps if they get bounced? Kind of a small market but he's kind of a strange guy.

The Clippers are so much more talented though. Paul, Griffin, etc. Plus he wouldn't have to leave his woman in LA, and it would be a big FU to Buss Jr.

Phil doesn't want a lot of talent. He wants one of the best talents, the second best and role players. That's the way he wins titles.

Ya but money always talks if Paul Allen is willing to open his wallet.

He's never had the best PG. He's always had that wing player. Melo fits right into that mold.

Half of the NY roster has one foot in the grave. I think JR Smith is going to get PAID this summer, and I don't think NY has his bird rights. Outside of Melo, who do they have? Amare? Chandler?

Wow the Knicks look like shit after this year, their fans better hope they do something in the playoffs this year.

I doubt they will. Eventually the road to the Finals goes through Miami and they simply don't have the talent to compete. Maybe if Amare was younger and healthier.

I think MIA wins it all again but I believe the Knicks did sweep MIA in the regular season this year.

legacy talks. I don't think Phil is all that concerned with Money. He doesn't want to coach a borderline playoff team.

I'd still make a run at him. Ya never know sounded like Portland got fairly close to a deal with Jackson last time. Jackson's name alone could get big time free agents to come play here.

You can't just sit there and say we don't have a chance because He doesn't want to coach a borderline playoff team. He might be our way to a championship.

Almost makes you wonder if you could pitch it as, yes you taken great teams and won championships but if you want to build on your legacy can you take a borderline team and make them great? How much greater would you look as a coach if you can do that?

Jackson would probably want the GM job as well. Maybe even be team president. Would you still give it to him?

sure. while we're at it, lets sign Dwight Howard. He'd be perfect and is an UFA this summer.

Phil Jackson will sign up to coach the Bobcats and waive his fee, just as a favor to his old pal Michael. Just watch.

You guys forget that right after we hired Olshey, Jackson put out reports for a couple of weeks that he would love to be the Blazers' Advisor (like Jerry West is now with Golden State, which has really helped them). From that position (basically replacing Kolde) he could have taken GM or Coach a year later. But Allen had just hired Olshey and ignored Jackson.

Jackson wants to work with the Blazers, the team nearest Idaho, where he lives. But we'd need to psychologically ease him in, beginning as Advisor, so that he wouldn't know our true nefarious purpose.

Proof or it never happened.

He lives in Idaho? Tell Jeanie Buss that.

Ya I remember hearing about that and he also wants to work for the Blazers because of Paul check book. It was my understanding that Paul and Jackson did have a meeting and Jackson asked for to much? Jackson wanted team president\ownership or something like that?

You have a short memory. You must be aging fast. Get to a doctor today.

There was no meeting reported as I recall. But maybe you read something that I didn't.

Okay I figured out the best way Phil can contribute. We start Jackson at PF and trade Aldridge for Howard. We start Hickson at C with Howard coming off the bench. Claver starts at SF, of course. We trade Batum and Matthews for a backup to Elliot Williams. Our big money of the summer gets spent on Maynor. Stotts grooms Jackson on how to coach. Stotts doesn't catch on that he's getting fired at the end of the season. Now I'm figuring out how to get Jeannie to go for Stotts so we can seal up Jackson to stay here permanently.
