OT Sounds like we could get some snow later this week with some possible freezing rain

Still without power in the O.C. PGE is terribly helpful with their automated reporting/update line. “Yeah, we know about it. No idea when we’ll be there to fix it.”

Drove around much? The carnage ia crazy. PGE restored power in my neighborhood last night as it got dark. Saw the guys working and wanted to unload my wallet/tip. Can't imagine the hours they've put in.

His post didn't come off ungrateful to me..

The automated message is a piece of junk. Thats a fact.

Its also a fact that the workers are doing the lords work.

We’ve had power since Sunday, but early this morning a garbage truck somehow took out the Comcast hook up for our neighborhood. No TV or internet until 5:00 this afternoon. Some how power doesn’t have the same magic when it can’t be used to inform or entertain oneself.....

How does a car just slide off the bridge when it has barricades? I mean how fast were they going to begin with?

a car doesn't just slide off the bridge. It had to have smashed against the barricade and flipped over right?

something isnt adding up here?

They plowed the snow into the sides of the high causing a snow bank that formed sort of a ramp?

I dunno.

ahh that sounds plausible. Was there that much snow? I could see it piled up and turning into an ice ramp though i suppose.

tenor snow storm.gif I estimate about 8 inches of snow, so far, in central NJ.

Yep, our ‘hood is a mess. Large tree branches down everywhere. Several streets are at least partially blocked. We had such a nice tree lined street prior to this but it’s gonna take a long time, if ever before it recovers. But at least we have a gas H2O heater, gas fireplace and gas stove. It may be dark but we’re warm, clean and fed......it’s interesting to wander the hood and see all the garage doors (manually) open, with people running their vehicles just so they can recharge all their electronic devices. We’ve gone from the 21st century to the 19th century in one storm. Good thing books don’t need a recharge.....

this is a tree a few blocks over and down from me. One of my favorites in town. I loved this tree. I was truly saddened to see it crumble to a stump in this...

Church next to me got hit pretty hard too. That tree line didn't have a single tree go unscathed. Getting my GC to come by with his dump truck so we can cut stuff up and haul it off for them.

My parents finally got power tonight.

I found out because I accidently called to check up on them when Jeopardy was on. ON NO, I'M INTERRUPTING JEOPARDY!
I always knew when my dad was alive to never, ever, never call during Judge Judy or Dr. Phil. But whenever I screwed up and did call, it sounded like Judy and Phil were at my house, right next to me when Dad answered.....

Video Shows Truck's 70-Foot Plunge off Milwaukee Interstate
The driver of a red pickup truck was taken to the hospital after the vehicle drove up a snowbank and over a roadway wall before crashing to the interstate below.

Mountain Park neighborhood! Just moved here a few weeks ago from Argay/Parkrose.
I use to target shoot my .22 LR back when that area was all farm land. It was developed by the father of a little girl I went to school with. The girl was Karen Halverson and her dad was Karl Halverson president of the Portland Chamber of Commerce. They lived on the only habitable island in Osego now known as Jantzen Island but they called it Halverson Island.

I’m in Vancouver. About an hour ago took a tape measure out and had about 10 inches and it’s still coming down heavy
Never did come down heavy in Lake Oswego.

Took a drive up to the store to get more beer and there was cars stuck everywhere around me.

My 4 runner v8 sport edition was just purring and climbing over the snow packs. When I bought this puppy the owner said when him and his dad go hunting they prefer it over their 2 ton Ford. Now I know why.

I mean I’ve driven in white out conditions in the Okanogans. I think I’ll keep her and give to the kids as their first car. Probably will get wrecked quick but oh well they’ll get to experience the beast in a snowstorm or two first hopefully
I was driving my Volvo XC90 AWD with studless snow tires. I had no problems going up and down icy roads anywhere and everywhere. Never slipped or slid ever.

Anybody out in SW Portland toward Tigard? Was just wondering if it’s more freezing rain or snow
I was, Drove from Lake Oswego to Washington Square Embassy Suites.

Still got some snow in the parking lots around here.
