Seriously, when are the European seasons over? Doesn't sound like Cho expects his team to still be playing in May, let alone June!

P.S. He should have said when were finished with the playoffs. That covers both elimination and winning it all.

As GM, Cho got the memo from Stern telling him how the playoffs are going to end.

He is pretty consistent in this assessment. He said, before the season, and before it was clear how bad Roy is and before it was known that Greg will be out - that the team is a piece or two from contending. Let's say Gerald is that one piece. -2 + 1 = -1 - Nothing new here, is there?

Okay so he thinks that, but to say it on print? BAD CHO!

Cho isn't paper trained.

On a good note.... This very same interview cho did say that he is most likely going to pick up Oden's extension.

QO seems like a no-brainer to me. The hard question, IMO, is a multi-year extension. I lean towards it, if Oden is willing. Of course, then the question is...how much.

Good luck, Cho.

Good luck, Cho.

So here's the question, does Oden come at the Blazers with a ridiculously high demand so the team will want to let him go? What's the most anyone can offer him this summer? Anyone with cap space?

a happy medium should be able to be struck between Greg's upside (dominance) vs the downside (injury history/risk)... I'm thinking 3 years 27M total or so. A deal of that length would work for both sides as Portland has a number of contracts up the following year if they want to rework things and if all goes well for GO he'll be 27 y/old and have a monster contract ahead of him... it would also insure him against his bad injury luck continuing

Can't they make the contract have incentives so if he's injured and can't play he isn't paid as much, while if he does well and stays healthy he's paid much more?

With the history, Oden's agent would never agree to such an offer. I'm sure other teams in the league wouldn't have them in the mix. Now maybe a good base pay and rewards for, let's say 12+ boards a game, 2+ blocks a game, playing 65+ games, etc. Now that isn't that bad. Maybe give him the opportunity to get close to max if he actually lives up to what he's supposed to be.
