Kind of, is it ethical that our “public” servants are almost always Millionaires or on there way to being Millionaires, even when their actual jobs as public servants pay modest wages. That they use their platforms as supposedly helping the public well being to sell some books and fill their checking accounts, does seem to create some ethical issues. Especially when so many of them claim that the rich are whats wrong with America while driving nice cars and living in mansions.
What are the ethical issues exactly? He's not president anymore, he has no power. No one is buying his book to curry favor with the government.
Arguably, it is in the public interest for him to write books about his time in office. It's a lot less repugnant than becoming a lobbyist or the CEO of a defense contractor or something like that.
