Dani California and Slow Cheetah are awesome.. gonna check out the other half soon.. I hope to actually buy the album, so I can get a chance to check out all the extra stuff RHCP puts in their albums.</div>
It'd be hard to top Californication. That album was pure genius.
It's interesting you mention Slow Cheetah too. My brother who previewed the album last week was telling me that Slow Cheetah was the best on the entire (double) album. Can't wait to finally get a listen...
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When I heard Dani California, I was hooked. I'm definitely picking this album up. Ususally bands that have been in the business for a while just don't know when they are past their prime (*cough* Metallica, St. Anger *cough*), but RHCP sounds as good as ever.</div>
I'm not a huge fan of Dani California. Maybe it's because I've been waiting for over four years for this album, or maybe it's because they've pushed the release date back 10-15 times already, but whatever the reason may be, I had higher hopes for the first single. Thinking back to Californication, the first singles (Scar Tissue, Californication, and Around the World) were probably the best songs on the album, and the same could be said for By The Way. I just hope that's not the case for this one.
The Peppers have really managed to stay current though. Pearl Jam, Metallica, and countless others have really lost it, but the Peppers still have that youthful, sexual (yes, I said sexual), and funky energy that comes across in their music.
1979-present... amazing
