Start Oden??

Ha!

I checked out OLive before I began posting on BBF. Back then, the forum had more L*ker fans than Blazer fans. Unless things have drastically changed, I'm not surprised they consider actual Blazer fans to be "lame." The inhabitants of that cesspool deserve each other.

I haven't checked the forums over there in years. Once I found BBB.net, I was forever changed.

Greg starting is essential for playoff success IMO. Otherwise we'll start the game off playing 4-5 on offense.

at this point i'd say keep starting joel and bringing oden off the bench. it's not like the blazers ever consistently did a good job of getting oden involved early when he was starting. coming off the bench probably gets oden more touches in his first few minutes of the game which gets him more involved in the game.

This is almost like saying should we start Frye over Aldridge.

If Frye were a better player than Aldridge, as Oden is better than Przybilla, then it would be very much like that.

I guess the fact that Fyre is much, much, much worse than Aldridge, while Oden is as good or better than Przybilla, is why it's only "almost" the same.

Translation = You got RUN over on O-Live and crawled over here with your tail between your legs.

I get it now.

Strange translation . . . you must speak OLive.

I've posted with OMG for years, and knowing his language, you completely screwed up that translation. No worries, not your fault, you learned translation from OLive.

Good shit in this thread, and I agree w/ the overwhelming majority of the posts in this thread. Keep it like it is. For this season, I think Joel in the 1st unit and Greg in the 2nd unit makes us better than vice versa, as whoever is not in foul trouble/playing better will get the majority of the minutes anyway.

I think this is also better for Greg. He already has a feel for how the game is going when he comes in, he gets to play vs. the backup Center so he may not foul as much, etc...

I just wanted to point out how great a job Nate has done this year. If he doesn't get some votes for COY i will be shocked. I think (homer alert) he has been the best coach this year in the NBA... we will see what happens in the playoffs... if we win a round or more, he should get it (I'm not sure if it is given out before though).

Sean Meagher (AKA the man who killed the Blazers O-Live Forum).. is running a poll asking if Oden should be the starting Center the rest of the year and into the playoffs.

Is this a joke?

Joel > Oden.

and it's not close.

Hank, what did Sean do?

Most O-Live posters make fun of the people who post over here.

They think you guys are pretty lame and humorless.

That's very true. There seems to be a holier than thou attitude with this group of people toward O-Live. Truthfully, I always found the basketball discussion to be at a higher level at O-Live than at BBF.com. And this place doesn't nearly have the one-liner zings that O-Live did (mostly due to the format).

The problem for me came when everyone split the scene at O-Live and I was left talking with amehl and BlazerShane.

No offense, but that's a pretty ignorant viewpoint. O-Live allows you to have more than one moniker, so you'd get a loser who would post with several monikers and make it appear that they were actually L*ker fans. Also, people like 45qq would spam the site. I guarantee you that those folks weren't L*ker fans, they just lived to annoy others.

Getting back to Joel vs. Greg, it doesn't matter much to me. The important thing is having both of them. I guess right now I like Joel as a starter better simply because he knows the league better, the refs better, is more agressive and more confident. And having Greg play the backup C is almost unfair.

Do other olive posters know about this site?

A few of them, Blazerwookee posts there, ABM, SlyPokerdog sometimes, Cloudydays is new on here with me.. But this site is known.. just sometimes a little too rough around the edges for some in there lol.

You mean LakerLanny? I know you don't mean the current Lanny, right?
Yeah I think thats who he means.. I have had dealings with lakerlanny.. no one can really say anything negative about the real Lanny.

Well, yeah, kinda. Before the idiot LakerLanny, there was a LakerLanny that was a pretty good poster. He didn't post there a lot, but enough that you knew that he knew his hoops.

Then the newer LakerLanny showed up with a non-stop barrage of bull crap. He didn't really know his hoops, and was just there to troll. One of his favorite tricks was, when he was shown up to be the moron he was, he would spam the site with new thread after new thread, all with the same title, until the post showing him up would be 'flushed' off of the current page.

I seldom go to OL anymore, and I don't know anything about the new Lanny.

Hank, what did Sean do?

Yeah I'm curious about this too, I rarely ever lurk over there anymore, but I just checked and the forum still appears to have the same crappy format it always has.

Coach of the year is a regular season award.

I like the format better IMO but each to their own. But the change that has been made, there are ads now at the top... and lag to have your posts or replies show up. Prompting people to hit refresh more often to see when your post shows up.. upping the hit count, then they can charge more for for their advertising. Kinda sucky.
