Tanking sucks. But then you have the worst case of tanking for years in the case of OKC - and now they are the #1 seed in the west - so it's not going away.

It's the system. What I hate is contradicting it by trying to trade for vet talent when we aren't there yet just to be the Houston Rockets.

This team curently has the 14th highest payroll and finished 28th in record. Jody is actually paying 1.3 mil in luxury tax this year.

If we did not have an absentee owner, there is 0 chance that either Joe or Chauncey would be employed with this track record of mismanagement.

Sure but I don't think they intend to retain those salaries. Had to do it to retain the asset until we can trade them.

So you think Joe has done a bad job?
Has that opinion not been clear from my posts?

Three of the worst seasons in franchise history under his watch.

The lack of vision, the losing, the mismanagement of assets, etc etc etc.

Mismanagement of assets? Which assets?

Lack of vision? The vision seems pretty clear to me. Acquire young talent, evaluate young talent, build around the best pieces. The losing is part of the vision.

You want me to relitigate every point i have talked about ad nauseum here of the past 3 years? Not sure why i need to provide you a refresher for this. I dont have the time or interest.

Just wait until idiot Joe give Brogdon a contract extension this summer because he didnt manage to find a trade yet again. He's gonna sell you on retaining that salary then too.

Good for you then. If you want to make statements, you should be willing to back them up.

You want to make some kind of statement like he mismanaged assets and then you won't back it up. That's weak ass soft shit.
You are welcome to read through my 50k+ posts to find the answer you are looking for. Hell, just maybe even go through the trade deadline thread. You seem to be so interested, for some reason.

I am dazzled by the way you navigated the end of the season. Just stupendous to nab a tie for the 3rd worst record in the league. Personally, I think there should be a fine for this kind of blatant manipulation, but hey, if the league doesn’t care, who am I to argue.

Just a heads up, if you do this kind of crap again next year, I’m done.

LMAO. We're tanking next year bro. Just accept it.

SELL THE FUCKING TEAM JODY!!!

You have no idea what was on the table at the trade deadline. If he had dumped Brogdon for a couple second rounders, would that have been managing our assets well?

Why not at least wait to see what happens this summer because I think there's a very good chance that Brogdon and Timelord will be gone. Maybe even Simons. I don't understand what the rush is to hurry through this rebuild. That's the kind of lame ass thinking that Neil employed during his garbage tenure here.

When did Spotrac start forcing you to become a premium member? I tried to look at some salary cap data and it locks me out asking for login info.

He should have flipped Timelord and Brogdon as soon as he got them. Their value has very clearly depreciated. The word that they want to be like the Rockets is also quite worrisome and short sighted. The talk that they want to trade the GS pick seems short sighted as well.

I hope Portland is tanking next year and I hope Jody sells. I am not certain of the tanking with Ant/Grant/Brogdon on the roster. I am certain Jody will not be selling any time before the new tv contract is in full force. But there is always hope.

Again, we don't know that he didn't try. We don't know what is being offered. I think if Timelord hadn't gotten hurt, he would have been moved during the season. There was supposedly a lot of interest in him. He's just a ticking time bomb with his injury history.

I heard there was an offer from the Clippers for their 1st for Brogdon. I could understand wanting more, but now you have to get rid of salary and there would have been a minutes crunch if everyone was healthy. Also, the re-signing of Thybulle wasn't particularly good. It'll be fine if he can get a return for him but I'm not holding my breath. It feels like every time there's an objection, fans are told we can't judge. Cronin needs to focus on getting his youngsters up to par before turning to veterans and talking about wanting to be like Houston.

That was the offer for Brogdon when he was on the Celtics, but I'm not sure if it was still available later when they were trying to make the move for Harden.

I still like the Thybulle signing.

You can judge, but your judgement is going to be called out as incomplete and incorrect due to lack of inside information.

If we were competing, sure, but Thybulle is even more irrelevant now that we have Camara, a second-round rookie who outplayed him most the season. And you have Murray and Rupert who I'm assuming we're trying to develop. On top of all that, we're likely to draft another wing who would need his minutes in this year's draft. Now we're 8 mil over the tax. I'm just hoping we don't have to attach an asset just to get rid of him.

Thybulle still has value, and it's better to retain him at a reasonable price rather than lose him for nothing. We also had no idea that Camara would be as good as he was.
