So it begins.....
The inevitable national sports media's chorus of 'should (Player X) want out of (Small market city) cause they can't get any respect there?' I have a feeling this is going to be a theme on ESPN in the coming weeks as we get closer to the All-Star game. The blazers as a team will be expectedly mediocre but with dame averaging 25/6/5 the last 3 years and still not making the team... The snubs are becoming really glaring at this point. Writers will search for reasons to explain it and there is only one left.... Portland itself. All-Star is no longer a title for your quality of play on the court as much as it is a popularity contest, and if Dame really wants some recognition for his hard work (which most people do but Dame may not) he will have a VERY hard time finding it in Portland with the way the rules are set up.and so what begins?

People still don't seem to understand that Dame is playing during a point guard renaissance. He's a very good player, but it's hard to stand out when there's Steph, Westbrook, Paul, Lowry, Irving, Kemba, Wall, etc etc etc. There are so many good point guards right now that it's simply a discussion of who likes who the best. So in the end, what's holding him back is his team's record, but the west is so stacked right now that (short of trading for another superstar) we're going to at best be 4th or 5th.
