Steve Blake hospitalized for pneumonia

Season is not over yet. We will crush that record and still make the playoffs.

Anyone know the record of that Rockets team?

I noticed near the end of the Clippers game that Blake was hacking quite a bit. Thought maybe he had something stuck in his throat.

Hope he has a quick recovery. Just as long as it's not H1N1.

Dude. It's pneumonia, that's 10X worse than Swine flu.

Not gonna find any scooby snacks at the rose garden, all the food there sucks. I wish there were though, finally something tasty there.
I personally like the Hawaiin slices at Pizza Hut and the BBQ shredded beef by A11.

Depends. The severity of swine varies dramatically from person to person, from hardly noticeable to quite severe. The severity was originally [wrongly] downplayed because of the small sample size. Just as well, people panicked plenty as it was.

Blake is about 1/4 pork, so he might be in trouble.

It won't matter. We'll keep winning. He'll be out for what, a week? We can make do with the eight we have. It's the system, hard work, and belief in each other that is giving the Blazers these wins at these point. As long as we're not without Blake for a two or three games, Portland will be just fine.

Swine flu has proven to be less lethal than common flu and you can get better (generally) without any treatment, pneumonia untreated is not something you just get over.

This is comical....im sure now you guys will go on a 10 game win streak

Highly unlikely. Full recovery can be up to a month ... and that's just for resuming normal activity levels, not playing professional basketball.

Look, I don't care who did it. I won't even ask. Just put the mummy artifact back. Give the treasure back, and we'll just look the other way.

I know some of you might not believe me...but I have actually figured out the reason for this season's injury curse and I have proof!

Everyone is familiar with the "Tiki" curse from the Brady Bunch, right?

Well, I first got suspicious when I came across this photo of Brandon Roy vacationing in Hawaii...

I got further suspicious when I noticed what Brandon's son was playing with at the press conference for his new deal. Most people thought the kid was being cute...I WAS NOT AMUSED!!

The last straw was when I noticed what Brandon has been wearing around his neck this season!

It is obvious what now needs to be done! Brandon, return the Tiki to Hawaii ASAP!!

Yeah, but length of recovery from pneumonia is all over the board. A friend of mine had it last summer - it was pretty serious. Doctor said they waited too long to bring him in and it could have been really bad. He was hospitalized for 2 days, and then rested at home for a week and was fine after that.

I make this sacrifice :chicken: to you, Boo Boo, god of injuries:

I see, even with all this turmoil, the gods still can't smite Andre "Iron Man" Miller.

When i'm at home feeling a little down about everything that has happened to the blazers, I know I can come here and find a thread that will make me laugh my ass off.

Get better Steve! Being a person who had Pneumonia every year for 14 years when I was a kid, I can feel for him.

lol. If nothing else, this season is demonstrating the value of a healthy superstar. Without Roy we'd be heading deep into the lottery right now.

I can't help but think back to the Piston's championship team from a few years ago. They're best 6 players combined to miss a total of 14 games that year. If we had that kind of health imagine where we'd be.

Right. Which is why I was replying to Crimson the Cat's assertion that he'd be out for about a week; it's possible, but I certainly wouldn't count on it.

Dude, if H1N1 preceeded the pneumonia, then it is a far more dangerous situation, since H1N1 severely weakens the lungs and makes you much more vulnerable to bacterial infections that typically follow in behind H1N1.

Who said he had H1N1?

I think I figured it out. Doesn't it seem strange that Juwan Howard is so old and still healthy?! Clearly he stole an ancient artifact that drains the health of those around him. And Andre Miller has rarely been injured and not missed a game in so long... Maybe they are sharing said artifact?! :ohno:

Well pneumonia is all about letting phlegm build up too much and it solidifying in your lungs. So you have to have some kind of virus before you have pneumonia. But I would wager it was just the common cold.:sherlock:

Someone needs to return the Tiki doll to the Hawaiian burial ground before this gets worse.
