Still no color commentator for Calabro?

Our traffic is damn near as bad. My average commute time from Tualatin to Mall 205 is 75 minutes no matter which route I take. This is aprox a 25 mile trip. Some days it takes me closer to two hours.

Would it be quicker to utilize public transportation? I have never lived a very large city but if I did I think I would make sure I lived near a popular bus or train route and then only drive on the weekends if I was going out of town.

I rather drive lol the amount of crazy shit you see on public transportation on a weekly basis is high enough to suffer through 1-2 hour commutes.

Its funny, we have one of the best mass transit systems per capita in the US, but the rivers make the commute hell unless you live on the Max lines. If it weren't for having to cross one of the bridges, I'm sure commuting would be much better overall. Plus the West hills only have two options to get to.

To take mass transit, I would have to take the max from near my house, through downtown, out to Beaverton, transfer to another max and then continue to Tualatin. I know someone who has done it from downtown and its two plus hours they said.

With that said...
Seattle is in an even more impossible situation to try to improve. With all of thier large waterways, the options are limited. Plus commuters commute in all different directions because of how the industial sections are sprawled out in both south King county, North Seattle and the Bothel/Redmond areas.
Ive never lived in a better place than Seattle when it comes to surroundings. Ive never lived in a worse place than Seattle with regards to traffic. Ive lived in NY too.

I guess the smart money (no pun intended) is living right near your work (unless it is cost prohibitive or you change jobs too often). Then there is no smart money.

I would have my mortgage payment doubled if I tried to find the same sized and type ofhouse near my work. East side vs the West. Im a grubby East sider. lol

Just don't insult the good people of Portland and say it's for anything other than that. I would guess 95% of the 55% that were privileged enough to get to watch the Blazers, love the Mikes.

And, that's all it would be - a guess, and likely a wrong one at that. When was the last time a large segment of the population was in 95% agreement on anything?

Based on the poll:

Fan preference: Keep the Mikes or hire Calabro

53.1% said "Hire Calabro: he's one of the best in the business"

32.8% said "Keep the Mikes: they're part of the fabric of the franchise" - nowhere near your guess of 95%

14.1% said "To close to call: all depends on the color guy"

Yeah, that's a small sample size and those who responded are die hard fans that frequent this forum. So what about the more casual fans? I doubt if they give much of a fuck who calls the games - that's why they are casual fans.

This whole "outrage" over the change in broadcasters reminds me of the Draft the 'Stache campaign. A couple of the local radio guys were huge Adam Morrison fans and organized a Draft the 'Stache Rally, complete with free t-shirts, for like minded Morrison fans. They showed the "rally" on the local news broadcast and there were six guys there, half looked like homeless guys who probably didn't even know who Adam Morrison was, but were grateful for the free shirts Of course the radio guys were absolutely incredulous when we traded up and took Aldridge instead of Morrison.

And, like with a couple butt hurt Mike and Mike fans, there were a couple butt hurt Morrison fans who littered the forum with their "outrage" every chance they got for a couple seasons - until Morrison totally flamed out and Aldridge was a starter averaging 18/8 on a 54-win team. History showed the folly of their ways.

Quoting thing is still not working FYI @SlyPokerDog @Denny Crane

Anytime I want to do a second quote, it will not show up without leaving and coming back. I then did this and it still quoted an old quote, not the most recent I had just selected. The above post can be deleted. :)
+quote as many times as you want.

Then there should be an "insert quotes" option in the post editor.

Trying to figure out some clues to help you guys out........

Right.
So I quote one person's post and create my own post. Then I go to another person's post and click quote, but when I go to insert the quote, nothing shows up This happens every time I am in a thread and want to create a second post with a second quote.

C'mon HCP....if you're going to hint...let me help you out. Something along the lines of...he's not white...he has hair...he's older than dirt...ex Blazer player/coach.....his last name rhymes with Harry

Could also possibly be both, no?
Fischer decides to curb the comeback and becomes Portland's color analyst...

Mmmm no thanks...

I thought about adding both or neither as options, but it seems like everyone who has been mentioned is either a former NBA player of coach. No way would we ever add someone tainted by the piss and purple like that asshole Fisher.

Its too bad Dr. Jack is no longer with us. He would have been perfect paired with Calabro. So much knowledge and will always be loved (rightfully so) in Portland.

+quote before you reply.

God i hope it's not a woman. I could see portland doing that shit just to appear progressive. If it's anything i hate more than women it's women who talk.

Wow.

I really hope green font was forgotten. If not, what an asshollish post. Would you say that about your mother? What if someone did?

I'd have no problem with Carrie Brownstein doing the job...actually she'd be great at it

Lol. Isnt that the only way to get a quote in the reply? Has to be added before you reply?

I will try to watch next time and provide a step by step of what I do.
I don't know about everyone else, but I personally use two completely separate processes depending on if I'm quoting just one post or multiple posts.

If I just want to reply to a post, I simply click "reply" on that specific post, and it will quote that post in my response.

If I want to quote multiple posts, I click "+quote" on each post I want to quote first, then go down to the new post area and use the "insert quote" function to insert all the posts I've selected.

Yep, exactly how I do it, too.
