Stotts just gave one of the worst answers I’ve ever heard in a postgame.

Terry Stotts logic:

Curry is going to get 30 either way so we might as well not make things tough on him. Holy shit, he’s really not going to adjust, is he? We are going to have to watch the two greatest shooters of all time walk into 3s for 4 games. Incredible.

"He had 0 in the first half but had 33 in the 2nd half on insanely tough shots, so we should just make it easier on him and let him get wide open looks of screens to see if that'll stop him from scoring 33 in a half."

This shows what an idiot he is. He knows very well he got embarrassed on national stage so in order not too look like a dumb ass, and accept he failed as a coach and his defensive plan was terrible, he is trying to defend himself, surely he will have to make giant adjustment on curry, if i was Dame I would be pissed and would demand a traps on curry just what they doing on him

It's the 'make your kid smoke a pack of cigarettes until he pukes and never smokes again' Strategy.

Because doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result isn't the definition for Insanity it is the definition for Terry Stotts.

This is going to be my sig.

Maybe Stotts didn't know Curry and Klay could shoot. Complete ignorance would be about the only reason I can understand for that type of game plan without Durant. Make Iggy, Looney, Bogut beat you. If they do, at least you lost to their 3rd options. Kerr > Stotts.
Especially when you have 2 star guards and every defense tries to make the other 3 beat them...

Theres literally no excuse possible.

He defense hasn't changed the first 82 games and hasn't changed in the playoffs so why would anybody think he would change now.

He did change it though. But his change was the stupidest, illogical change you can do.

Yeah, Terry, that was one fucking game. Sometimes superstars get hot, like Dame going off for 50 against OKC. But you know what? I can damn well guarantee Curry will have multiple games like this if we keep this shit up. Just because he torched Houston doesn't mean we should just throw in the fucking towel and not even try. Good fucking lord....

Want to explain Klay then Terry?

Most coaches would put their best defenders on the other team's best players to prevent those players from getting a rhythm or getting hot but Stotts waits until after those said best players are already in their groove to put his best defenders on them because Terry likes to challenge himself apparently.:dunno: Stotts just has to make winning games harder then they have to be.:beatinto:

I am flabbergasted as to why.

Curry wasn't even "hot", he was just getting practice shots and he's a great shooter anyways so....

Stotts finding the most brainless way to say "Curry's a great player no matter how you defend him."

Sure--but you still defend him. When you're letting a single, simple screen break him wide open, you're one step away from not even putting a defender on him at all.

You might as well just sit down on the floor and only get back up after the ball goes through the hoop and start your offensive set.
