Maybe. Stromile's a hell of a player when he wants to be. He just never seems to give a shit though. When he was a Grizzlie he'd go through stretches of All-Star level play and then just abruptly stop putting forth the effort and go back to being a liability for seemingly no particular reason. That's not to say there's no holes in his game, because he still has problems playing with his back to the basket, he has no handles nor can he catch an entry pass unless it hits him in the face, but in an uptempo offense he can put up All-Star numbers on any given night when his head's in the game.
All in all he's a waste of talent though. He's like a glorified DeAngelo Collins.

Everything you say may be true but i look at it this way; he may just be an athlete who just happens to play basketball. There are stretches where everything can come into place and when they don't he gets down on himself, doesn't hustle and makes bone-headed plays. He has just not put everything together and doesn't have enough basketball IQ that he may never will.

Well with some regular minutes and an offense suited more to Devins strengths, he may prove to be the right side of handy if he can be bothered. Surely his agent is in his ear about this being a contract year. Surely.

i doubt that it has anything to do with that.. swift knew he would lose lots of cash if he opted out, ofcourse no one wants to do that, so he took the option. i bet that's all there is to it. i figure he'll be traded before the deadline, maybe even before the season starts.

Sounds like someone D'Antoni could try and work with. Too bad they have nothing we'd want in the same salary range.
How about Marcus and Swift to Golden St for Harrington? Saves the Warriors a year off of Harrington's deal (which will come in handy to sign Ellis, Azubuike and Barnes) and gets them a PG that works in an uptempo style and is insurance for Baron.

Thats what I was going to say. At this point in the career, there (probably) isn't a team that will fall into the "Maybe he'll just need a change of scene and it'll work!". But there could very well be a team trying to clear some cap room.

nets fans, only some, can appreciate what collins does but around the league, he's seen as a stiff. neither swift or collins have any value outside of expiring contracts and teams dont care if he buts heads or not because he's expiring which can be valuable in a major trade in need of a filler. same with collins

Swift had to take that option and obviously, he did. I agree that he might be traded sometime during the next season (or before) due to his expiring contract but he's in NJ right now, so I want him to perform there. I still believe that he could be a key player in a more uptempo type of offense.
