How did you guys go about academic scholarships? Through the school, or did you get them first, THEN decide which college?

Find out if the Blazers have a scholarship for children of employees.
 
If you guys have kids and you know that school isn’t their thing. I’d recommend telling them to work for UPS. It’s a sacrifice of the body. But they’ll make more money than most their friends with college degrees, have amazing benefits free of charge, a great pension and if they start early they can retire early. Tell them to load up that 401k of course.

Union jobs are a dying breed. But a good Teamster job can be a good 2nd option

UPS has a tuition assistance program also, I believe. Plus busting your ass for awhile is great motivation to get a degree. A few years of bartending told me I didn't want to do that forever and I better get my ass in gear.

UPS jobs are very brutal. Not everyone is cut out for that kind of tough tough work.
