I think, at least in terms of personnel, Cronin and Schmitz have earned the benefit of the doubt with what they do.
Unless one wants to speculate on trades you think they should have made that might not ever have been on the table, they haven't really missed badly, except maybe with Murray (the book's still out on Rupert).
Sharpe looks like an ascending player. Other than maybe taking Amen Thompson, Scoot keeps looking better. Clingan was better than I expected. They got a second-team all-defensive player as a throw-in in Toumani. They got Jabari with the next-to-last pick. They got Banton and Thybulle essentially for nothing. They got Deni for a bottom-of-the lottery draft pick in a middling-to-weak-looking draft. They found Reath under a rock. They added a couple of players that could be assets in a couple of ways in Ayton and Timelord, and they've added a handful of future picks.
There's reason to be optimistic that whatever they do with this pick will make the Blazers better. Their track record says as much.
