That's crazy. Swanigan has more instincts in his little finger than those two. They were stiffs in the bodies of NBA players. Biggie is an NBA player in the body of a bouncer.

Call it what you want, but Noah is a better player than Swanigan.

Idk about Swanigan but Vonleh had a PER of 13 with Chicago, 12 with Portland, and we know what he brings defensively. He belongs in the league.

Agreed. Vonleh is a solid rebounder and a very good defender. Unfortunately, like pretty much every other young big man to pass through Portland since LaMarcus Aldridge, he never developed offensively. 4 years in the league, over 2 and a half of them in POR, and he still doesn't have a single reliable offensive move. Too bad we fired Kim Hughes when Aldridge left and never bothered to replace him.

We went from a veteran team to a very young team in the space of less than a month back when Aldridge/Lopez/Matthews left and we traded Batum. Our coaching staff has done a great job developing guards, but our young bigs have floundered - especially on the offensive end. It will be interesting to see if Vonleh ever develops even a rudimentary offensive game.

The guy has 4 full seasons of NBA experience and still hasn't turned 23 years old. CHI renounced his rights and declined to tender a qualifying offer. Anyone know of he's received any interest/offers from other teams? He seems like a good guy. I'd hate to see him out of the league before his 23rd birthday.

I’ve seen conflicting reports on whether he was actually renounced or not.

watch Brooklyn pick him up now

A buddy of mine who has been incredibly accurate in forecasting future player production has used wingspan as one of his higher ranking criteria for years. Thanks for posting this...I'm going to send it to him.
Especially relevant now that, as pointed out in another thread, the tradition bigs aren't even given contracts (e.g. Alex Len)
