I'm outta this thread.

I guess it's not a great spot to be in on a BLAZER BOARD defending a current member of the Blazer roster, and one who shot the 3 better than anybody else on the team last season, or for the last how many seasons?

Notice I'm not the one bashing any current Blazer in any thread. That makes me a troll and making it all about me these days.

Babbitt was last year, and will be again this year, a Blazer. If the entire next season is spent arguing about Luke Babbitt's 15 mpg off the bench, I'm outta here.

Oh, and Mike,

IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU POSTING AGAIN. MY GIRLS HAVE ENJOYED YOUR TICKETS WITH ME 4 TIMES NOW OVER THE LAST TWO SEASONS.

I always tell that nice woman who looks over section 207 that we're friends of you, and how my girls love the seats!

Of course it's a fail. At least when it completely debases your argument.

I guess he's still in the NBA in 2012-13.

$100?

2013-14 Babbitt is still in the NBA.

$100

Deal?

I'm not sure you're even good for $1.

So you're saying the Blazers will pick up his 4th-year option, and you have no problem with them doing so.

$100 they pick it up. Put up or shut up about Babbitt as a Blazer or picked up for his 4th season. The Blazers don't have to exercise their option for a 4th season. I'm willing to bet $100 that they will exercise that option, since Babbitt can shoot at an elite NBA level, and will do so again this season when given the chance.

Stop making this thread all about you. :MARIS61:

I'm waiting for a real bet, Chris.

Sorry, Ben. Waiting for a real bet? PM me.

Grant, er, Greg.

Weirdo

Michael, I am not papag. But my girls love the seats too. (Say 'hi' to Karla for me.)

Take care big guy!

PLAYER NAME GP MPG PTS FGM-FGA FG% RPG APG SPG BPG
Damian Lillard (POR) 4 32.8 26.5 8.8-20.0 0.438 4 5.3 0.5 0
Nolan Smith (POR) 2 25 18.5 7.0-12.0 0.583 3.5 2.5 1 0
Will Barton (POR) 5 32.8 15 5.6-12.6 0.444 4.4 2.2 1 0.4
Luke Babbitt (POR) 4 30.8 13.3 4.2-11.2 0.378 7.3 2 1 0.3
Meyers Leonard (POR) 4 29.8 10.5 3.5-6.2 0.56 8.3 0.8 0.3 1.5

A couple of quick notes:
Nolan Smith actually played 1.5 games (didn't play 2nd half of game 1, he also should probably be credited with 2 more points for FTs he was awarded but didn't get to take - basically multiply all his numbers by 4/3

Meyers Leonard was sick during one of the games and it was obvious from the beginning - he only got 4 rebounds that game.

On a completely unrelated to PapaG note, I also liked what I saw from Ibekwe and Bost. If I were GM (which thank God I'm not), I'd cut Price and Jeffries, and keep Bost and Ibekwe for the full year.

Before this got derailed, my point was the my girls have always appreciated being able to purchase MGB's seats.

SlyPokerDog seems to be trying to troll as hard as anyone here these days. Sly, are you on a post count or something?

YOU'RE PATHETIC.

Ben from BlazersEdge handed out the same exact grades I did.

You should have claimed a copywrite on your bullshit before Ben From BlazersEdge did. Golliver is lazy these days and wasn't even in Vegas.

Thanks for the thread, though. You authored it, right? You just got plagiarized.

yeah these grades all seem fairly similar, seems like pretty much everyone was disappointed in babbitt

With Summer League over, Lillard finishes on top of nba.com's Rookie Ladder

Congrats, Damien

A quote: "Even though he sat the final game, the top spot is Lillard's, no doubt about it."

I have no interest in laying a wager, but even if I did, him sticking in the league doesn't necessarily mean it will be with the Blazers; even if he becomes a free agent early, he'll probably land with some team for a little while. And where did you get such a hard-on about making this a bet?

I was hoping Babbitt could become a rotational player, a Stoyakovick at best or Novak at worse. I don't see why anyone would care if he can stick in the league as a 15th man, if he is an end of the bench scrub that'll be a dissapointment for someone drafted ad high as he was.

I was not encouraged by Babbits performance at summer league. I would be surprised if he is averaging more than 15minutes a game for any of the next three seasons. If he doesn't hit that metric his career to date will have been a failure regardless of actually making a roster or not.

Apparently, according to https://twitter.com/JustinVerrier -Damian Lillard and Josh Selby officially named co-MVPs of Las Vegas Summer League.

Selby's performance reminded me a lot of how Jarryd Bayless played in Vegas. Head down, drive to the hole, rarely look to pass.

Lillard 26.5ppg/5.3apg/4rpg
Selby 27.5ppg/2.5apg/2.8rpg

Selby did shoot 59%, though. I liked Lillard's performance much better because his statistical percentages were more in line with what we'll see in the regular season.

Josh Selby isn't going to shoot 59% from the field for an entire season should he ever actually become a starter in the NBA.

I wondered if Selby would win it or not. Guy was unbelievable from 3 in summer league

Haha, some weekend shenanigans I missed out on.

Lets not make the claim that something's a useless thread, if you don't have the balls to start threads about the Blazers yourself.

Damian Lillard - A+
He did everything well and was very efficient. His ability to keep his dibble alive in the paint and find the open man makes me want D'Antoni for this team even more. There's no better system that would fit him better than D'Antoni's.

Meyers Leonard - B
Showed flashes but also looked very raw. Hiring the right bigman coach is going to be key. He bites on every pump-fake, but showed good timing on the weak-side. Love his upside.

PapaG- if it's such a useless thread, why are YOU the one who has used it the most?

Something to ponder....

.

If we see these numbers from Lilliard in the regular season, he'll be the best rookie since David Robinson.

PapaG- a way you might've stated the same facts:

I agree with most of your post but I think you're selling Luke Babbitt short. He had the best +/- and his overall numbers were solid.

Why couldn't you have said that instead of attacking like you did. Let's share thoughts and ideas in here, not bash people over the head when you disagree with them.

Peace.

A couple weeks has changed a lot. I remember a few weeks ago you were annointing this draft a disaster.

I think it's funny how our old buddy PapaG will be cruising along having a gay old time and then suddenly a day will come along where he just rages about the silliest little things.

It makes you wonder if he uses this place as a way to vent his frustrations with life.
