Summer League

Glad I have nba tv to watch some of the games without paying for that stupid crappy summer league stream online.

It's so nice to watch Orlando Summer League, because NBA-TV broadcasts the Las Vegas SL differently. In their belief that the thousands of viewers watch SL because we hate SL, NBA-TV tries to do us a favor by wiping out an entire quarter every game with the most boring interview they can find.

Remember last summer when they ruined over a quarter of a Blazer game by showing the press conference announcing that Charlotte was changing its name? We already knew that, and then they added 15 minutes of stupid, repetitive questions from reporters. When we were finally allowed to return late in the game, it had been decided.

That game was our last chance to do anything in the playoffs after a horribly disappointing SL (we had the most draftees in the league but were blown out every game). So when we posted complaints, a couple of posters who weren't watching posted to belittle our interest in SL--exactly the audience NBA-TV aims for (see 2nd sentence).

Tell us how u really feel

Go Blazers!

HCP said he'd pass this along to his superiors. Any progress, HCP, before I have to sabotage the quarter-long interviews with one-fourth urine Gatorade?

I liked Orlando when it was just two local guys and a webcam on the balcony. Those guys were funny.

Man, I still wish we would have found a way to draft McGary. Guy is good.

Two of my main guys in this draft, Payton and McGary looked real nice today.

Joe Freeman: #Blazers announce summer league roster, which includes McCollum, Barton, Crabbe, T. Rob, Freeland and Leonard, as expected.

Almost half the Blazer roster is playing summer league. Too many young inexperienced players on the Blazer roster . . .

Last summer we had 1 more draftee, 7 because of Claver, than now. We got the parade permit and were all ready for the championship.

Harsh:

Did someone Space Jam Kelly Olynyk's talent? Last year, Olynyk was the best rookie at Summer League, probably even the best non-Andre Drummond player. He was Dirk Nowitzki-lite, hitting jumpers from all over the place and even dominating the boards despite his T-Rex wingspan. Even though there were better athletes than Olynyk, he succeeded despite their advantage. Monday, Olynyk couldn't overcome that superior athleticism, fouling six times, nor could he find a shooting rhythm, evidenced by his 5-of-13 performance from the field. Here's hoping Olynyk rediscovers his lost talent. (An aside: No offense to Olynyk, but if aliens truly did possess the power to steal talent, why would you target Olynyk?)

Olynyk is a passing point-center like Walton. But Wooden didn't allow centers and forwards to dribble. Olynyk has the extra dimension of dribbling as well as a SF.

Walton had great quickness and leaping (before injuries), unlike Kelly, but Olynyk is a court leader like Walton. He will go far.

Guy writes that after one bad game? I'm no Olynk fan one way or the other, but that's kind of dumb.

Two games. Yes it is dumb, but he's writing about who played well in Summer League games, so what can you do? People want to read that.

Mike Tokito @mtokito
#Blazers' CJ McCollum noticeably bigger in arms, shoulders, but said he's actually lost a little weight while getting stronger.

Like last year, assistants David Vanterpool and Nate Tibbetts will be co-head coaches of #Blazers summer league team.

He was a fatty from a little college program. His nickname should be Chunky.

In fact, every bad review of Olynyk on the internet is written by me. It's exhausting setting up so many proxies, but worth it if I can destroy him.

Sounds like a page out of the John Canzano playbook.

What did he do wrong in his first game?

(Consider it a hypothetical because I know you don't have an answer).
