@Mediocre Man seems to think we're 100% trading the #11 for a player (AKA: "the Deni Maneuver"). Let's say he's right (and that he does not, in fact, "know nothing"). What would that trade look like? Who would that player be? (I will be very disappointed if it's RJ fucking Barrett.)

If indeed we are interested in KAT (which I hereby oppose), maybe something like this?

IMO the only way we trade for KAT and his contract is if we include Grant's contract.

Moving #11 seems unlikely. To many quality prospects. Yes we moved one of our FRPs last year, but not the highest one and every year someone says we're going to trade out and we don't.

I think Joe and his team prefer to add a rookie unless it's someone really worthwhile and I agree Barrett does not fit that description.

I actually think we will trade the pick and like last year I think it’s gonna be for a player none of us are thinking about.

KAT would bring in a lot of offense that we desperately need. I’m assuming we would be keeping Camara and Deni in this scenario, so I wonder if KAT would play center for us.

I think he would.

A KAT/Camara/Deni frontcourt wouldn’t be bad but Ayton and Grant need to go. Cling Kong and KAT would get all the C minutes.

Still not sold on KAT though.

The rumor on the internet is Ayton/Thybulle/11 and a future 1 for KAT.

The BS on this rumor is the Blazers willing to take on that much of a contract cause we all know Jody / Bert or whoever is running this will not take on another 6 million so this is complete and utter CRAP so flush it down the drain.

NEXT rumor

There’s absolutely no way we trade our pick.
I could see us trading up, I could see us trading down to add a later pick and I could see us packaging our pick with a player or players to get someone we want on the roster. So those are three very sensible ways that we could trade our pick. You thinking "there's absolutely no way we trade our pick" is almost comically ridiculous, especially in a draft where so many prospects don't have a consensus value.

This is the kind of draft where teams take a couple of future second round picks to let you move up from 11 to 9. I think this is definitely a draft where if our front office likes a guy like Demin but he seems very getable at 15 then we could see us trading back to OKC who doesn't need to add two rookies to their roster and nab picks 15 and 24. Seriously, your concrete judgement here in such a fluid situation is silly.

I think we will trade a player for another 1st. I don't think we trade the #11 unless we are trading up.

The real question is would Bradley Beal do it since he has a no trade clause
That's a good point. Probably not. We're not the instant contender he's looking for. Maybe if we are adding pick 10 to this package it would make more sense.

So that's us getting Dame (who probably comes with some kind of injured player exemption), pick 10 and pick 29, the Suns getting Jerami, Time Lord and a protected 2031 FRP from Milwaukee and the Bucks getting Bradley Beal who might look washed but can at least get out there and play.

If our guy is Carter Bryant, we’re definitely gonna have to trade up now. I think PHX takes him

Not with Bea Arthurs wallet.
Suppose you could set Dame up with whoever the front runner is in the auction for the team, to be the face of the franchise and get like 5% ownership, while at the same time applying for and I'm sure getting medical retirement. His money comes off the cap and he gets paid all of it through insurance... not the team's pocket book.

I honestly don't think Dame comes back from this injury in a meaningful way. Klay ruptured his Achilles in 2020 when he was four or five years younger than Dame, it took Klay over a year before he played again and he hasn't been the same since... and that's a dude who was again about 5 years younger than Dame is right now when he went through it.

Give Dame a piece of the team, maybe let him fire Joe and he gets to collect that crazy money for not playing.

Why are they any more likely than Houston was? They strike me as inept - I bet they go for either (a) a Michigan State player, or (b) a player who looked good in the NCAA tournament (Queen?)
