What did you get from this SL?

Personally I could only see Watford and maybe Walker making the rotation. Keon still needs some work, Brown is still very raw, and I would have liked to see more from Williams. He stepped up at the end of the championship, but he wasn’t a huge factor for most of the tournament.

Any thoughts?

Just about the same. Id underline great defensive effort and overall hustle across the board as well.

All of our summer league players are tainted, they will completely suck at tanking now.

Biggest takeaways for me were…

1) Blazers seem committed to playing defense.

2) Walker is probably too slow right now to guard SFs full time.

3) Watford keeps getting better, and showing more and more signs of leadership. He will probably be a very good backup PF eventually.

Watford and Walker were SL studs. Keon had his moments. Brandon showed his strengths and his weaknesses. I really hope that Kyle Alexander gets that second two way spot, the dude is athletic, long and gives a ton of effort. I think he could take minutes away from Eubanks behind Nurk.

It's hard to tell in SL but if we have to get significant playing time from any of the guys on this team, without them making a major jump between now and when they start getting that PT, we might be in trouble. That being said, I don't think there's much PT for any of them unless Trendon or Jabari can break through as a small ball stretch 5. 5 is the only position that I see any PT available at. Dame and Ant will get all of the competitive minutes running the point. Ant, GP2 and Hart will get all of the minutes at the shooting guard spot. Nas, Hart, GP2 and Justise will get all of the minutes at SF. Grant and Justise will get all of the minutes at PF. Nurk will get as many minutes as we can get out of him at C and Eubanks looks like he's the second option there.

The one guy that was sitting on the SL bench that could possibly beat out any of those guys (Hart, GP2, Nas, Justise) for minutes is Shaedon if he gets healthy and is what a lot of people thought he might be which is a transcendent talent.

I liked Alexander WAY better than Garza.

Young core assembling:

Ant
Sharpe (gotta know what he will do)
Keon
Watford
Walker
Nas

That's potentially two stars, maybe one of those will go higher. Solid Nas if healthy! If not deal him STAT. Keon Watford Walker developing. Keon and Walker are super young. Keon could have real value, ie too much potential and too young to deal at the deadline. Older players go first!

Gotta find a way to dump Didi and sign Kyle Alexander to the two-way

Don't overthink it.
The Championship, FWIW, is fantastic, and can indeed contribute to a culture.
A culture that seems to begin with defense, and hustle.
Next up is Fall Camp where a lot of the "if's" and "let's see" will be sorted out.
Feelin' pretty good about this team.

This team under Chauncy didn't even make the playoffs. Same team with that Video coach dude took the championship. Just sayin'

Seriously, tho, Watford and Walker will be nice role players to have. Keon will likely be as well at some point. GB3 plays like he is playing for the Great Britain national team. Athletic - but not NBA level player at this point. Gotta love his energy, but that's exactly what CJ Elleby had, so hopefully, he has more than this as time goes on.

Also, the team already plays at times with 80s style leg warmers, might be time to bring 80s style shoulder pads as well (Sharpe).

I enjoyed watching the 2 games I had a chance to. The defense was serious, well done to the coaching team and the players for buying in.

- Watford and Walker are rotational players.

- Keon needs some time

- Williams is solid for a two way contract

- Greg Brown choose the wrong sport, he's an athlet but not a Basketball player imo

- Didi is a waste of a roster spot
