Tank 2022

8th or 9th from the bottom would be perfect. But now they are 7th and that gives them almost a 30% chance of landing in the top four with the ping pong balls.. That scares me.

That worries me a bit as well. They jump into the Top-4, and then we keep winning and somehow get into the Playoffs, we got from having 2 Lottery picks to not having any.

So Portland.... :banghead2:

I still can't believe Joe agreed to those protections.

Updated to the Allstar break.
Keep NO pick if it's 5-14
Keep own pick if it's 1-14
Current NO pick: 7, but 29.4% chance we don't keep it (2nd to last column)
Current PDX pick: 10, 16.9% chance to move to top 4. (5 wins less than #15).

The thing about our tank is that it might really get going over the next 10 games but then we have 11 straight games of running head on into other tanks. This should be interesting.

The Tank is back!
Reminder:
Keep NO pick if it's 5-14
Keep own pick if it's 1-14
Current NO pick: 7, but 29.4% chance we don't keep it (2nd to last column)
Current PDX pick: 9, 20.3% chance to move to top 4. (5 wins less than #15).

Tank harder. Simons is going to need to rest a contusion or something.

Ahhh, the good old Atari days back in high school:

did you see how hard GS was trapping/doubling Ant every time he touched the ball? I don't think he'll need to sit out any games. Teams are completely taking him out as is.

I love this! Ant gets great practice at being overplayed, and still gets 24 points on 50/57/100 efficiency.
AND the tank shifts into next gear.

I don't understand the Kings.... they have talent. There's no reason for them to be consistently shit. Is it coaching? Is it their front office?
They've been horrible at drafting. Chose Bagley over Doncic and Trae. Sabonis is good but he just got there. Takes time for his teammates to adjust.

Pacers with an inexplicable blowout of Boston.

I don't think we'll catch em but that was a useless win for them.

I don't know, they play the Magic twice and then the Pistons... that seems like a four game win streak to me. Then they'll start getting guys back. Warren, Turner and McConnell are all pretty close. We've just gotta start dropping games which shouldn't be too hard for the next couple of weeks and then keep losing when losing gets tough. I think we could get to the fifth spot. When those games that are hard to lose come along, you just come up with a reason for Hart to sit.

To tank this hard and blatant there has to be a prospect they REALLY want in the top half of the draft.

Me and @Rastapopoulos are in agreement that we both hope that the prospect is Chet.

I would like to see us move ahead of San Antonio at least in the lottery race; the others are tanking so heavy it will be tough to pass them.

Without the Pels pick, Blazers are in trouble.

Yeah we'll have to wait and see on where the Pels end up. The hype around CJ's arrival is a bit overblown. They beat the Suns without CP3 and Aaron Holiday, not to mention Cam Payne the guy they were depending on to help do damage control from the loss of CP3. They also beat a Lakers team who have been a mess all season when healthy and didn't even have AD.

I'll hold off on the coronation of them beating out the Lakers in the play ins or the Spurs if they jump in there and I'll just go on record saying I don't think they'll beat the Clippers or Wolves. So to me odds are still pretty strong that the pick conveys and it's looking likely to be the 10th or 11th.

I do agree that without the Pels pick we'll be in a far worse position to improve this off season, mores so I think regardless of if there was a mandate to get under and stay under the tax, Cronin is going to be in much bigger trouble than the team is, in regards to getting that interim tag taken off and not being replaced... probably before the draft.

A lotto pick, Hart and cap relief for CJ isn't all that terrible... it's still a bad deal but not horrendous. Hart, cap relief and wherever the Bucks pick ends up in 2025 would be a hard pill to swallow especially if CJ keeps on putting up the numbers he is and leads that Pelicans team to the playoffs robbing us of the pick.

Where's my daily update on the tank? I need to see where our picks are sitting!

Ewwww, thank God neither of you are the GM. I’ll be irate if Chet is the player the Blazers are targeting. A stiff wind will snap that kid in half (or a swift forearm from someone like Andre Drummond). No fucking thank you.

Without the Pels pick the CJ trade goes from weak to a total screwjob. I have long rejected the idea of CJ being our "2nd star", but you can't trade a useful NBA starter without getting something!
Insert Blazer fans trying to justify Hart being a better player than CJ

And if Nance plays next season (always a gamble) we really got hosed!

I suspect you won't have to wait long!

If the deal had just been Hart for Nance - that would have been a good deal. A healthy Nance would have been worth more to us than a wing - but a solid and healthy wing is worth more than a broken down Nance.
