Tank 2022

OK, tonight we want SAC to beat Brooklyn, SA to beat Chicago, us to lose, I don't care about Houston or Orlando cuz we can't catch them.
I would want those teams to win anyway! lol

that's the ideal. drop below SAC and SA to the 6th spot in the lotto. I don't think there's any feasible way for us to catch Indy/OKC to get into the top 5 before the lotto.

#6 Gives us >40% odds at landing top 4. It's also the same lotto seed we had in 07.

So depressing watching that clip. I remember running through my place with my roommate in college fist pumping and screaming when we won.

I want to feel that elation again thinking we have a chance.

It was the closest thing I have ever felt to winning a championship. Just pure elation and joy. Some of dames shots have been amazing but winning the lottery is still the best feeling I have had as a blazer fan.

Dame .9 tops the lottery for me. So long since we'd won a playoff series. But those are the top 2.

2000 Blazers were great but never a single moment of happiness.

The Kings are gonna Kangz. Still can’t beat the Nets without KD, Kyrie and Simmons.

We may need to win to keep New Orleans out. Then we can lose the play-in games. Then trade both picks to move up??

How often does that happen anymore especially in such a top-heavy and otherwise weak draft?

Yeah probably not. But you never know how many players might emerge in the next two months from the tourney and internationally.

Trade the picks for proven players, especially if they aren’t top 7.

Simons is playing like a franchise-calibre guard, Nurk is beasting, and Hart seems able to play the second option role at least so far.

Teams with those kind of guys and a bunch of role players focused on defense don't tend to do well tanking.

The more you look at our schedule over the remaining 24 games, the easier it is. I just went through our opponents schedules. We have 2 back to backs and our opponents have 5.; we catch them on the second of the back to back all 5 times.

Blazers back to backs;
3/20-21 @IND @DET
4/7-8 @NOP @DAL

Blazers Opponent on back to back (Opponents schedule):
MEM (2/15-16 @NOP POR)
DEN (2/26-27 SAC @POR)
MIN (3/4-5 @OKC POR)
WSH (3/11-12 .@LAL @POR)
ATL (3/13-14 IND POR)

I disregarded March 25-26 as Houston plays us twice in Portland.

Again, players don't tank games. You don't want a player on your team that would intentionally lose a game.

GMs build teams to tank. This team as currently constructed is built to tank.

Then they have failed three games in a row.

I would say currently the blazers have the third or fourth worst roster in the Western conference.

Where would you put it?

Possibly. But they have the easiest schedule, and if your the 6th worst team you make the playin.

That poor record was mostly a result of Olshey's incompetence--a roster he intended to win couldn't do so. Since Cronin has been making moves, ostensibly building a roster to lose, the Blazers have been winning.

I think the winds are anomaly and the blazers will settle back into losing soon.

So what does that have to do with saying that players don't intentionally lose games? Again, you don't want to player on your team that will intentionally throw a game.
