I might even take Scoot over him. Tough to say right now still.
 
I’ll be happy with Miller or Walker. Brandon Miller could easily end up being the best player in the draft. Guy doesn’t have a weakness.

He has a ton of talent, length and ability. His weakness might be in choice of friends that have brought on legal scrutiny.

Was talking this over last night and we came up with the following:

  • The Blazers get the #1 pick and keep it. You can't trade away that type of generational talent
  • The Blazers get the #2-4 pick and trade it with the NYK pick and salaries to get an impact player
  • The Blazers get the #5-14 pick and trade it, the NYK pick, Ant + salaries to get an impact player

The better that pick is, the less they will have to give up on the back end, especially if they get to #2. That asset needs to be as good as possible. We start messing around and winning games and end up with a lower pick and Cronin has start start adding Sharpe in with Simons to get a REAL impact player. Part of this is because we STILL don't have control of our future Drafts thanks to Neil thinking Nance was worth all that. :banghead2:

I hate 'cheering' for losses, but that is the only way they are able to get either an impactful Draft pick, or a pick high enough that you don't have to strip the rest of the roster to made a trade. Sadly, it's come to the point that an 0-6 road trip might be the best thing that could happen to this franchise in a long time. Imagine the euphoria of getting in the top 2? Of course, it would be almost obligatory that we get the #1 pick and then have a big man have injury troubles, but it is still the best chance this franchise has to actually get better.

It’s sad/disappointing to look at this roster and seeing the way Dame is playing this year, then try to process that the Blazers have one of the worst records in the league. This roster/coach/ownership should be embarrassed.

Oh well. Reality is setting in. Hopefully the lottery gods will shine on the Blazers this year and something good will come out of this ugliness.

Just 2.5 games away from the #5 pick, and we play #5 ORL very soon with a chance to close the gap.

Being a long-time Blazer fan I know there are 2 possibilities: If we luck into the pick we'll (1.) choose the wrong guy or (2.) choose the correct guy but as soon as his shoes hit the crappy PDX airport carpet he'll get stress fractures and then his legs will explode as soon as they hit the floor of the practice facility.

That's pretty crazy they're interviewing Dame about Wemby tbh.
 
Oddly enough, Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson banged knees in a game slightly injuring both of them at one point. But Victor has other issues. If you can read French, there is a link with additional information in the article as well.

....but even with the injury history, his game highlights make one salivate. Not a ton of opposition size, but his skills are upper level for his size and age.

And the NBA will be far more physical than where he is playing now. Injury waiting to happen.

Not much additional info. It just says he has a psoas (back muscle) injury that if troublesome is not healed properly because it's a muscle you use a lot in basketball (and everyday life) so he wont be participating in Eurobasket
 
Chicago and Indiana play each other today so if Portland loses to Orlando, we will either 'pass' the Bulls or inch closer to the Pacers....AND we would be only 1.5 games back of the Magic.
 
What would we need to see in a win vs Orlando to make winning it actually worth it in the grand scheme of things?

If Reddish creates a live example of Nuclear Fission in the second quarter it’ll make winning worth it.

Sharpe scores 40 points, or 30 points and 10 rebounds with a couple blocks.
Sharpe is the only player that matters to me this season.
 
maybe Houston was thinking they can trade Christian Wood, since there's a seriously upgraded version in this summer's draft?

The Magic are 5-5 in their last 10 games so we should be able to pass them (downwardly).
The Pacers lost 5 in a row then won 3 of their last 5.
Indiana won in Dallas and Orlando, but lost in San Antonio, though Haliburton did not play in San Antonio.
Right now, with Haliburton, Orlando leads Chicago, and Haliburton is on fire, shooting 6-7 for 16 points.
 
You just know that if we win the lottery and take Wemby, he's gonna break into a million pieces.
 
Tied with the Bulls, Haliburton hits a contested 3-pointer from the logo and the Pacers win in Chicago.
Chicago had one last chance but Vucevic missed on his 3-point attempt.
 
Current players are never down with a tank. Competitors want to win and their next contract is a reflection of the team's belief in their ability to do so. If a team is tanking, it has to be management's decision to hold out healthy players etc...
