Is this Dame?
Kenny Smith just walked off set of Inside the NBA.
Not really a good look for you here.Only lost for the owners and league, the players will still demand their full wages.
It's shameless really. Trying my hardest not to judge people, but it's too easyNot really a good look for you here.
What's too far is when a cop grabs an unarmed man by his undershirt, aims his gun at that man point blank and fires seven shots into the man... that's too fucking far. No peaceful response to that could possibly be too far.Who are YOU to tell them that their reaction to racism and police brutality is too far?
I don't want to sound like a cynic but I can be one at times. I think what will happen is either the NBA will make a grand gesture like a huge donation or more likely a new foundation that is just enough to placate the players but definitely not enough to make a meaningful dent in this enormous problem or state governments or the federal government (most likely just the House of Representatives) will put together a committee or present a bill to be voted on at a later date that will be enough to again placate the players but enact no real lasting change. I could even see the House very quickly passing a bill about police reform, mandated penalties for police brutality and studies about how to stop systemic racism in law enforcement. That could very likely happen and then the Senate, a month from now, would just shoot it down or the president would veto the bill. I do think someone will do something flashy and ineffective to get athletes playing again (the MLB is canceling games now too).I hope it accomplishes something, but I don’t see how
Right; it's been the lack of adjustment and lack of awakening by the police that has caused this.Who are YOU to tell them that their reaction to racism and police brutality is too far?
Yeah, because there were no racial issues before 2016, and the Coronavirus is keeping tabs on the American political systemShould have just canceled it and tried to start over after Biden is elected in November and Covid and racial issues disappear for a while.
MLS games are postponed as well.
Brian Windorst said last week it costs the league about $1.5 million per day to run the bubble.
TNT is currently showing The Longest Yard instead of NBA playoff basketball. Think of all the revenue lost for everyone involved.
This will inevitably bring change. Just gotta be patient and do it in a meaningful way. This wouldn't be happening if the bubble didn't exist-- that platform is absolutely massive.
MLS too? What will we do without minor league soccer??!!
this is over.
and won't face the Clippers....just kidding...it's over. stay healthy!So...we're in the 2nd round!
