We're the only team that is truly underperforming. East Top 8 is basically the same except for revitalized Miami in over injured Detroit. Out West, the Thunder are the most surprising but they shouldn't have been. Chris Paul is an upgrade from Westbrook and they got SGA/Gallo for PG13. If anything, we should've expected more from the Thunder whose excitement has died down a bit since they got blown out by an injured Lakers team led by Kyle Kuzma and Rajon Rondo at home. Lakers are maybe a slight surprise this season. I don't think many people had the Lakers dominating the West. Memphis is an early surprise but there's a ways to go with them. Most believed Dallas had a shot at playoffs this year but no one predicted 2019-20 Luka Doncic. Fuck, last year, Andrew Sharpe (fired recently by SI) said Luka's rookie year and trajectory would be the same as Tyreke Evans'. There were many who thought rookie Luka was as good as it was going to get.
We're probably not the most disappointed fans, though. I think the Golden State and New Orleans fans have had it worse this. Warriors fans paid hiked up prices at a brand new arena to watch what was promised to be another MVP season by Stephen Curry. Instead, they are the worst team in the conference after 5 years of being the best. Then you have New Orleans who got the #1 pick, drafted a generational talent in Zion Williamson, and added pieces that got people excited about a playoff run. Instead, it's January, their record is 14-26, and they have yet to see Zion play. Recent reports said Zion was being taught how to walk and run. That's not what a fan wants to hear about their number one pick.
