This thing seems really cool. But it is about 240 miles to my brothers house from here. What the hell do I do? Stay in Salem for a night and charge the dang thing?
Geez, the last time I stayed in Salem, I said would be my last. Changed rooms 3 times before I got one with stuff working. Then the Mariachi band fired up. I
like them occasionally, but shit, it went two hours.

Heavy price for being just a tad short on range.

I'm sure there's a charging station in between. You'll bee able to access any Tesla station for free.

25 minute charge time is not terrible. Wouldn't necessarily be the best for long road trips, but if you can map out the charging stations, you could make it work...

Its only 25 min for a full charge, you could stop for a ten min charge and that would be enough to get you there if you were in a rush, or charge it during a lunch stop and be fully ready and topped off. The days of it taking all night to charge are over.

I have about a 250 mile drive between Walla Walla and Portland, I know I always stop part way to stretch my legs and get a meal anyways.

Yes, there is one Tesla station nearly to where I would go. A might too far. Several of those infrastructure stations though (see a state map). I know there is one here in Bandon, one in Veneta, one in Monmouth, the last two could top it off and do the trick. Trouble is, most of them charge one car, I think the one in Veneta can handle two. Wow, if this thing sells, just think of the fuel lines!

The one in Bandon was put in by the City with a grant, $97,000 I think it was. It does one car. I guess you screwed if some one parks in the spot while they are in the City Hall.

Gosh, this all seems wonderful.

Yes but will you be looking to stop for good food or a charging station. Might take awhile before the good food places can also charge your car and not just one either.

I wonder what the State will do for Road Tax money when everyone has one of these beauties?

I would buy it if I have 40K. American at least

I wonder what kind of polluted earth we're going to leave to my son. That's something real to be concerned about.

Ok. Perhaps someone else can speculate on the answer to my question.

Sorry I figured I did. My answer basically means we're more concerned about the good that electric vehicles represent as opposed to some made up strawman argument.

I have never been in the unreleased $35,000 Tesla.

Why the hell not? What do you live in California for if not to be buds with Elon Musk?

Well dviss, you were being dviss again. I did not say nor intend to imply there was something bad about electric vehicles.
They do sort of screw up the road financing though, but it can be changed, that was what prompted my question.

That's the strawman I'm talking about. I don't think they do. It's already screwed up. Electric cars will help fix it.
