I dunno, seems like something for the family and perhaps the law to work out. I really don't think anyone in here has enough knowledge on the subject to make an informed judgement.

I met a guy who drove an ambulance that I ride on regularly five to six times a week who told me he was a transgender. He was very happy that he did it. He also had the voice pitch and appearance of a man that made me think that it must have happened long ago. So, should the boy go through with the process? Beats me and I don't know how anyone who doesn't deal with this professionally and often would have anything based on informed knowledge that I would hang my hat on.

No, I'm gonna stick with letting the family, their highly qualified medical adviser(s) and the law settle this one.

I have a close relative that’s an OB doc and he says there are only two sexes male and female.

The "family" is already broken, which is why there's a custody battle. The "medical advisors" don't care as long as their fees are paid. The "law" has made a ruling which may or may not be overturned.
You have no idea what the appropriate medical community thinks about the matter. There are professionals who are used to handling these matters. Let them do their job.

IF HE WAS THAT CONCERNED, HE WOULDN'T HAVE MARRIED SUCH A CRAZY FUCKING BITCH
Pretty harsh language for a lady you've never met and know nothing about. Smacks of predjudice.

Well, he's wrong. One of the nicest people I know and is a regular ambulance driver for a company that takes me back and forth to the hospital three times a week is a transsexual. Nicest most well adjusted person you ever met. Sadly, got turned down for volunteering for the U.S. Army by Trump administration rules (not law).

Nothing against the trans community but his point from a scientific biology standpoint was no procedure or amount of chemicals can legit change a sex. He’s indicated that most Trans know this.

I'm sorry but I convinced otherwise. There are also people born with both a vagina and a penis. What sex are they?

He knows she's trying to block the boys father from having a say in his child's life.

Dads have rights too. It’s important that the kids know it’s equal parenting.
Unfortunately there are times when someone files for divorce they also are wanting have complete custody. In some cases it’s needed, but should never be a given so the one parent can rule the other out for the sake of a new life.
Dads are often discriminated against.

Sorry Lanny, I disagree. More times than not, when a hermaphrodite is born, the parents make a decision at birth or shortly there after to go one way or another. Sometime the child is born with either a malformed vagina and/or penis which sometimes can make the decision a little easier.

I'm also of the belief that sexual preference is not a predetermined trait...because it does not allow for neither "bisexuals" nor prison inmates who become "homosexual".

Well, it's been my experience that what you are describing is more an exception than the rule...most of the transexuals I've encountered (and before you ask, the answer is no) are pretty much lost individuals.

Not sure 1/2 male 1/2 female?
Everybody's confused by that one, including the subject. However, the subject must make an informed decision and how should he/she do that? They should do it with the help of professionals who deal in these sorts of matters in the medical community and the mental health community along with the parents, in my opinion.
This is why I consider myself unable to judge what happened to this child without knowing what was the input of the professionals who dealt with this. Had it been the sole judgement of the mother, I could understand an objection by others but do we know that? I don't and I don't know why any of the rest of us in here would know, either.

That's the only transsexual I've ever known other than a mixed of person who met my roommate in a bar about 45 years ago, went home with my roommate and when I got home I could see he was with a good looking woman. He then asked me to leave for a while 'cause he was gonna get 'lucky'. When I got home after seeing a movie, he told me that his intended lover surprisingly had the wrong equipment and we both laughed at his misfortune. So, that is my total experience with transsexuals. I guess I was more mature when I met the second one but I still have an issue with the first experience since the one with the wrong equipment should have been more honest. By the way, he/she told my buddy that they could get together after his/her operaton and my buddy said no thanks (just to fill out the story).

I disagree so we're going to have to leave it at that.
