Marjorie Taylor Greene Refers to 'Yellow People' in Speech on GOP Diversity

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) referred to "yellow people" while pushing back against claims of the GOP being a "white supremacist party."

The Georgia Republican mentioned the term—which was historically used as a racist slur against Asian people—in her Sunday opening remarks on the second day of "AmericaFest", a conference organized by conservative group Turning Point USA.

"So I've never been to one of these events before," said Greene. "I've heard a little bit about them. I've seen a little bit of this event, this type of event before."

"And when I walked in yesterday, I was like, 'What kind of people come here?'" she continued. "So I'm walking around and seeing some good people and I see white people, Black people, brown people, yellow people...

"And then there's talk of freedom and loving America and conservative principles, some crazy people in here were talking about how much they love this guy named Jesus. And I heard—someone I really like—I think I heard that a lot of people here like a guy named Donald J. Trump."

"And then I said 'Oh, oh, I know exactly what this is. The Left calls this a white supremacist party,'" Greene said. "Okay, okay, I know what I'm going to now."

I think this might be a little bit of a stretch. Not saying referring to people like that is perfectly fine, but it's weird how "white people, brown people" and "black people" were fine.

Still, anyone who is smarter than horse plop wouldn't have said that. That's my problem with her (and people like her)...she's a fucking moron who couldn't pass a 8th grade history pre-test.

Cause it's a slur. The only time someone has yellow skin is if they are jaundiced.

When it comes to college admissions, the admissions often classify asians with the whites.

Why isn't Black? There aren't any true Black people on this planet by the definition if the color…

No, just people with lighter and darker shades of skin.

Division by skin color is a construct created by a German physiologist who divided humans into an hierarchical order by skin color.

Black has been taken as an identity by African Americans as a means of empowerment to strike back at this construct. They are unapologetically black. There are other words such as colored and others I will not use here or anywhere that are slurs towards people of African descent.

Asian people do not like to be referred to as yellow. It is a known slur.

i persoannly prefer to stick with Asians, Americans, Europians, African Americans, and so on.
Color is not really needed at all.

Agreed, color isn't needed

I prefer to stick with people

I don't see color. I see people who happen to have descended from people who got more sun than the people I descended from. No division needed, we are all just people. In fact, we all originated from the same place, Africa.

I hate the fact that we have to fill out what our race is on government forms. What the fuck difference does it make? We're all mixed, some just more so than others.

yeah. The thought is on the up and up. BUt the reality these numbers are just used to try to divide us.
But the asking is actually for the benefit of minorities.

Never once felt like my family and I needed any preferential treatment just because we're classified as a minority. We're just humans. Classification should be based on how much of an asshole you are.

its somewhat prejudiced in a way. Its kinda assuming if you are a minority you must live in poverty and be taken care of.
Whne in reality its the minorities i see who work harder and ask for less while white boy America does as little as possible and takes whatever they can, whether they need it or not.

I must have a fantastic classification then!

That makes it sound like Americans are not those other things.

Yet Republican voters look away when this happens when it’s 100% caused by GOP politicians and the constant dog whistling of FoxNews and NewsMax.
