For being the scape goat for all our losses. To take all focus away from the piss poor shooting our starting wings had all season. To take any focus away from the god awful bench. To take away how terrible our defense has been all season!

And most importantly; thank you for being the worst most efficient player on this team! Without you; we would have to blame so many other players, coaches and gms! You are a good sport!

and thank you for leading the team in assists last night when your shot wasnt falling.

I know there is a raging debate on here after every loss about what LMA does or does not bring to the table. And yes, I know that LMA brings a lot to the table. He's not a "bad" player by any stretch. But I have to say, it just gets a little old watching him shrink in big moments. I know he hit a game winner against Dallas, but I've also seen him be flat out terrible down the stretch of more games than not. I guess my feelings about him at this point shake out like this:

- I can't think of many "all stars" in this sport who have less of an influence on how their team performs overall than he does. We can look great when he's terrible and vice versa.

- I can't think of many "all stars" who control a game less than he does. There are long stretches when you can't even tell if he's out there or not. He just doesn't control the action in any way.

- He can't really create for himself and he doesn't seem to be able to create opportunities for others. There are nights like last night when he gets some nice assists, but most nights, he's either making his shot or he's just not contributing much.

- He makes a lot of money and I can think of at least 10 power forwards I'd rather have than him. I just don't think he's worth what he makes.

- He comes across as soft, which makes it hard to root for him and give the benefit of the doubt about effort.

- I don't think his play would bother me as much if he wasn't viewed as an all star. I just don't think he's an all star, but that designation makes me want more out of him.

I guess that's a long way of saying I'm just not enjoying what he's bringing any more. I find his game more frustrating than enjoyable or valuable.

I had to rep that post, mikeg. I think you summed-up my own feelings extremely well. I often use too much hyperbole as a way to swing as far away as possible from those who worship him as the greatest PF in the game - an evening of the scales, if you will.

You post that for mags? :)

No for ME! I honestly had heard the term, but never used it.

This is the 1st rep I've given in 2 years.

This is the 4th rep I've given since registering on this board.

This is the Best Post of the Year. In Western Civiliation; I'll check China.

It is so concise, so big picture, so brilliant that it misses addressing only 2 issues--how Aldridge pads his stats in low-pressure stages of the game, and how in 95% of the game, he's a decoy resting upon his false reputation, and even then double-teamed only in some situations.

Edit: Just flew back. In China, too. They want to carry MikeG around on their shoulders.

Pretty spot on post IMO.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! What 10 power forwards are better than LA? And he's underpaid in comparison to production on the court. Please will a stat geek put up where LA ranks in salary.

Famz, yur lucky I didn't add Nick Collison and Reggie Evans to that list.

Maybe even Tyler Handsbro.

The thing is it doesn't matter what 10 PFs that people list. No one is every going to agree on a list. That goes whether you had LMA in there or not.

He's also only the 30th highest paid player in the league...... how can this guy say he's overpaid?

I know you dislike lma but with that list your pretty much saying ANY starting PF you'd in this league youd rather have.
That's just flat our nuts.

I'm not saying he deserves or doesn't deserve that money... that's something ya'll would know more about, but I don't like it when the top average salaries dictate the market prices for these guys, because a lot of those players don't deserve those figures either, whereas a lot of guys are paid way less than what they're worth.

I mean, compared to Joe Johnson, every player in the league is underpaid.

As for the whole "name ten better PF's" thing, ... is being a top 10 PF really the low-end requirement for your (pre-Lillard) franchise player?
