Shaq hit the nail right on the head! Never thought I'd agree with him, but he said LA needs to post up deeper and he relies too much on that mid range fade away jumper. Many of us have been saying that for years.

LA goes through these phases where he posts up deeper and he has a lot of success.

Barkley says we need to improve our bench. I like Barton and T-Rob off our bench but the rest sucks! Hope McCollum shows more next year.

Smith was dead on too. Pops uses his bench during the season so they are comfortable and ready to play. Stotts didn't do that. Pops used 13 guys 50+ games and 10+ mpg during the season. Stotts only used 7, and 2 were Wright and MoWilliams, neither of which was used at all in the last 2 games.

I agree with both posts. Plus, I'd like to see what we could get for Aldridge and Batum.

Wright is Mr. Inhibited. Barton is Mr. Uninhibited.

I would too. I still think Kevin Love is a better PF than LA. Batum just doesn't bring it every night.

Batum = Mo Williams. Both dribble around aimlessly, then turn it over.

I don't think the Blazers make the playoffs this year with the bench playing major minutes all season.

Maybe they don't make the playoffs as highly... Maybe we don't slump so bad mid season if our starters have more chance to rest a bit.

Even better, trade rosters with the TWolves. Imagine how many more games the Blazers would have won this year. At least 60 wins, easy.

How is that funny or clever? Oh wait, it was just another stupid PapaGay post.

You won! You slammed me by insinuating I am gay! How did you come up with that one. Gay jokes as an insult! It's the new thing! Genius!

Some things from this series makes me a bit depressed. Is the LaMarcus we saw in this series or the Houston one the norm going forward?

Sure its a great story we exceeded expectations yadayada. But I dont want to become the hawks of a few years ago that usually get out of the first round but never have any chance to contend. LaMarcus is going to be losing athleticism every year (he's already lost some) and with all our starters needing new contracts after next year I don't know how we improve the roster.

Good luck Olshey! Your a heck of a GM so I'm just going to have to hope you can find some more sneaky good moves again.

Shaq is right, but is Lamarcus capable of working on his game more. He hasn't exactly worked to become a legitimate PF.

Lamarcus isn't naturally a physical player and we have to live with that. He's shown the ability to do it more often than in the past, but his natural tendecies are that of a finesse player. I hope it's something he pays attention to this offseason. He's made great strides, but I hope he continues to work hard in the gym. I think the Lamarcus we saw this year is his peak. I hope I'm wrong and shows continues improvement of course.

I don't know if LA is a #1 guy on a championship team. Most likely he's a number 2. But Dame can be that guy!

Huh? LMA hasn't worked to become a legitimate PF? This is the dumbest shit I've seen posted here tonight. Embarrassing.

You must be a masochist for pussy, finesse, unconventional PFs like Channing Frye. I am so embarrassed.

Shaq's an idiot. Basically, his comments consist of "Player X ought to be more like me."

LaMarcus has upped his game, but let's be honest: when the midrange fadeaway jumpshot isn't falling, he has little to fall back on. He has increased his inside moves a TON this year, regardless of what people piss and moan about on here, but he still is just an average passer out of the double team. His ballhandling also kinda sucks. That HIGH dribble that he does when making a move is just begging for a guard to swoop in and steal.

People who wish for something better than LA are kidding themselves. Look, the pieces are there. Lillard is going to work at his game and become an elite point guard. If someone can just shake Batum and challenge him to bring his A game every night, he'll be an all-star. Wes works harder than anyone on the team, and can fill the bucket. Lopez is everything the Blazers could want in a center.

Olshay upgraded the roster last summer for nothing, and the Blazers made it to the second round. They may not have cap space, but they have assets to work with. I'm excited to see what happens.

Shaq saying big men need to play like he did. Also, the sun rose in the east this morning. Sources say it's going to set in the west. Go figure. Fuck Shaq.

As for playing the bench like Pop, that works for Pop because he's never going to be fired from San Antonio. It's his job until HE decides it isn't. Terry Stotts won 54 games this year and there will still quite a few in here who question whether they want him to return. Terry can't afford to punt a few regular season games for the big picture, because he's coaching still for his job. Easier said than done to just "do what Pop does".

I'm afraid the Aldridge we saw in this series is the real Aldridge.

LMA should play like Shaq.
Stotts should coach like Pop.

Why hasn't anyone else figured this out??

While we're at it, Batum should play like Pippen, and Lopez should play like Sabonis in his prime.

Would it be asking to much to expect Lillard to play like Michael Jordan?

It's so simple!

I'm afraid the Aldridge we saw in this series is the real Aldridge.

He is what he has always been, a FANTASTIC 3rd fiddle. Personally, I'm fine with that. Lillard will soon take his rightful place as 1st fiddle, so it's up to Neil to find a 2nd.

Lillard is the key. He can become a GREAT player in this league. If he takes that next leap to be a top 3 point guard in the league that makes it easier for the rest of the starters. I think our starters are fine as is. We just need better play off the bench.

It took the "beast" Aldridge for us to beat Houston, which isn't half as good as San Antonio. I'm afraid that as long as Aldridge plays his fade-away jump shot game, we will always fade away come playoff time.
