An argument could be made that we have 3 of the best 6 players in that draft. Crazy. And we have the best player in the draft from the year before.

That draft looks a lot better than it did a couple of years ago but is still not very good. Anthony Bennett has to be the worst first draft choice in NBA history. He was recruited by Dana Altman at UO but chose UNLV over the Ducks. Phew. Don't think we missed out on that one.

If I had to rank the top 10 players in the draft:
1.) CJ McCollum
2.) Giannis Antetokounmpo
3.) Rudy Gobert
4.) Dennis Schroder
5.) Victor Olidipo
6.) Nerlens Noel
7.) Kelly Olynyk
8.) Allen Crabbe
9.) Steven Adams
10.) Mason Plumlee

Crazy to think about how the first 4 picks shouldve been a guy from Lehigh, and foreign players from Greece, France, and Germany.

Kinda gives the Cavs an excuse for botching that 1st pick. Picks 10-19 have been better than picks 1-9. Don't think you can say that about any other draft.

He was a boom or bust prospect. I was one of the very few that thought Bennett would go #1. Obviously he ended up being trash but they didn't have many options. Olidipo would've been perfect for them now next to Irving but he had a ton of question marks at the time as an undersized SG that couldn't really score.

I think Giannis is going to far surpass CJ. Now that the Bucks are playing him at the point, he was KILLING it. He really is a freak of nature. I think he'll end up being the best player in that draft.

Gobert is overrated, in my opinion, but he's a really good player. For me it's Giannis, CJ, and then Gobert as the top three.

And no shame in CJ being second on that. Giannis will prob be 1st... he may never do much in Milwaukee, but he is definitely the most talented (with CJ being a close 2nd).

When you make a thread about a certain year's draft, maybe consider actually posting the GOD DAMNED DRAFT RESULTS!

No assclown. Thats the whole point of making a thread about a topic. You set it up and let people discuss. You don't randomly throw out an opinion and make people go hunt and search for shit.

--- Today is the day we learned HCP really is lazy.

Weeks before the draft I go through about 10 possible prospects for our pick.

On draft day I narrow it down to three based on who's rising/falling and likely to be there.

This is the draft I put intangibles/bbiq WAY above anything else.

My draft day top-3 for our #10 pick, in order:

CJ McCollum
Steven Adams
Rudy Gobert

Adams has turned into a meaner Przybilla and Gobert has turned into Mt. Mutombo.

This draft is severely underrated. Certainly one of the best in the past decade.

Fez should be assistant director of player personnel!

Adams dropped because he was a bit of an unknown and was really raw at Pitt.

While at Pitt he showed defensive awareness that you can't teach - an intangible that you either have or don't.

Gobert dropped for two reasons - didn't play a lot of minutes with Cholet and moved like he was in wet sand laterally. But he had the same awareness that Adams has on the defensive end combined with his extremely rare size and length.

Sabonis has this unteachable awareness -- on the offensive end. He's going to drop because of his lack of length. Get on it Neil!

"CJ is terrible."

When I made that thread he undoubtedly was terrible. A net/negative everytime he checked into the game.

Thankfully he calmed down and let the game come to him.
Your thread is probably what turned his career around!
