If we can get a team around Dame that makes sense and has two bonafide all stars to go with him. I think everyone should be on the board.

I would try to get the deal done for just two first rounders but if they demanded three I'd still pull the trigger.

The only thing left to consider is if Nurk would fit in with our new talent and if he didn't we could probably trade him to the Rockets for Christian Wood.

Fantastic trades. I love it!

So we are left with a bit of a hole at the SG. Unless you play to play Jaylen there like the Celtics are? Can SImonovic start at PF? What's the line up after those trades in your mind. I like that team WAYYY better than the current iteration let me be clear, I'm just asking because we are trading Powell, CJ and Anfernee in this instance. Do you move Nassir Little to SG or have him as 6th man super sub and start McLemore? That seems to be bad on defense. Here is what I would try just because THE DEFENSE OMG!

PG Dame
SG Little
SF Jaylen Brown
PF Simmons
C Nurkic

That's one of the best starting lineups in the league.
 
So obviously it’s obvious that at least one of CJ and Powell need to go. The way I look at it is CJs game has a lot more overlap with Ant’s than Powell’s does. Powell can attack the basket which the other two don’t really do as well, especially CJ. Then again Powell also makes half of what CJ does and is younger. He is probably our best bet to get true value in return. Morey is an idiot though. Unless he knows for a fact he’s getting Harden, passing on CJ is just dumb. He’s exactly what Philly needs.

Also mclemore has been a legit rotational player this season and we don’t have his bird rights. He’s a good bet to be traded, UNLESS the team decides they wanna spend some of the MLE to retain him and end up trading both CJ and Powell. That’s possible too, but they would have to decide on that now. Otherwise they lose him for nothing if they decide not to. And he’s definitely gonna get more than the minimum next time.

I hope Joe is thinking that way. I really hope ownership hasn't given Cronin too much rope. I hope he's under the impression that he has until the end of this season before they decide to give him a contract or look for someone who will make every moment count.

No other GM gets this leash from the media. Must be cuz he does all these public interviews and feeds them leaks.
 
Not a horrible idea for Morey to say that at this point. My guess is he does not want 33 million back in contracts of players that are similar in talent to what he already has on his bench. More depth is not going to get them to the next level. He needs a star in return to make a difference. Or some cap space. But that dream seems to be fading
 
This report actually might mean the exact opposite.

Philly could be be planning to accept whatever the best offer is for Ben by the deadline, but are hoping some teams will start offering more.

So they float a story that they are close to removing Ben from the trade market, and holding off until big names in the summer are available. Names that are clearly unrealistic but they hope stupid GM's and owners buy into. They know the CJ offer and other teams will be there the next few weeks regards of these reports. So they hope some other teams see that Ben won't be available unless its for Harden level players and start offering more players and picks.
 
Well Harden has the power because he is a FA.
 
Does Morey own the team? Why doesn't the Philly owner ever get criticized for this situation??

he can't simply walk to Philly-- they have no capspace and have no realistic avenues of generating it. Teams aren't going to be lining up to take on Harris' contract in a dump.

Also, I have a good feeling that Ben is currently unvaccinated and would not be able to play home games in BK as long as that mandate remains. Sean Marks would be better served letting Harden go to SA or Detroit or Orlando (who are the only teams with space to sign him outright).

Also also, Harden can get more $ and more years with BK.

This is all stuff floated by Daryl.
 
I wonder if there’s any GM dumb enough to actually buy this obvious desperation play. I bet there is. Hopefully it’s not ours.

i don't think even SAC is that stupid. All this stuff is telling me Morey has no good offers on the table.
