I have throughly laughed at anyone being impatient because the GM didn't Do anything a month ago, a week ago, or today.

Laughed. At. Like wtf did you think was gonna happen?

I'm not going to be surprised if we don't do anything, however I'm going to be disappointed when Nurk and RoCo walk away in the offseason for nothing.

I’d be astonished if the Blazers stand pat. At a bare minimum, they have to get under the LT threshold. RoCo it’s almost certain to be traded because of his ending contract and the fact that he’s so marketable. The same could be said of Nurk, but the plan may be to re-sign him. I’m not surprised at all that nothing has happened yet. It’s always the last few days before deals are struck. Teams are still playing chicken with each other right now.

nurk wants to stay and the only way he walks is if he doesnt get enough money

this season is lost, whether we bring dame back or not, so if we dont trade nurk, it could very well mean they plan to re-sign him

im guessing there is at least one franchise that would trade for him now, so if the blazers have no interest in re-signing him, they should trade him for whatever they can get, if its 2nd round pick or some solid player, so be it

Retool Serge Ibaka Eric Beldsoe for CJ McCollum free up some cap I year on Ibaka and 2 years on Bledsoe. Unload 150 Mil on CJ contract and owe only 25 mil on remaining contract for Ibaka and Bledsoe.

cj may not be a top tier trade prospect, but he’s not a negative asset. He should fetch at least a first and a decent player.

howard beck said on his pod that Morey is asking for way more in actual trade talks with teams than what he's leaking to the media. It apparently doesn't even seem like a real negotiation.

One executive apparently said, "Daryl is trying to get a package for Simmons that is twice what Houston got for Harden."

This guy... I have people in my fantasy leagues who pull this shit. They're the first to not get invited for subsequent seasons. I want nothing more than this to blow up in his face.

It's possible he's been planning all along to wait until after the season.

People here, who want Simmons and his all world defense, are gonna lose their collective shit when you see what Philly gets for him. We could easily do better

Ramona echoing what Beck said:

https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-trade-...src=rss&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

“The value is … there are a lot of teams who want him, but I don’t know there’s anybody who thinks we can’t live without him. They certainly don't value him at the level Philly has wanted in trade packages.”

"And so you've seen, you know we reported last week Sacramento said 'We're out.' They've been telling teams that. Other teams, they feel not only is the asking price too high from Philly, even if it went down some it would still be too high. It won't get far enough down for them to make a deal. They just don't want to waste time on it."

Woj:
"There are a lot of GMs who will tell you, I had one tell me today, certainly a team that has the pieces to do a Ben Simmons' trade... 'Daryl has to call me. I'm not calling him. He has to call me with offers.' There are teams who feel that."

It's possible he's been planning all along to wait until after the season.
I would bet he has several offers on the table and some could be low ball and some not, but he will wait and hope someone ups the ante. Of course teams could pull offers at the last minute too. He's a stat/system guy and he's not going to be proven wrong, just not going to happen with him he'll wait and blow it off as no big deal.

And also saying they are interested in Roco. CJ and Roco together is a lot of salary. The only way something would work is if we took on Devonte Graham with his four year salary, so I think they would need to give us draft picks also. I like this trade except having to take on Graham. But here it is: six for six.

CJ, Roco, Zeller, Smith, Snell, Mac for Hart, Graham, Satoransky, Hayes, Alexander-Walker and Herb Jones.

Since NO has a TPE it could have the same monitary value as just CJ and then absorb Covington into the TPE. I would 100% buy into this if you can get Herb and a first. Add Hart, Sato and whatever other small contract they want and it works.

Well the other GM can say hell with Morey not do business and keep Simmons on the sidelines until contract runs out. That would put the pressure on Philly either Morey finds away to get rid of him or Morey gets fire.

I think somebody has posted that Roco won't fit in that TPE. That's why I had to make it so complicated.

Sleepy Joe Cronin!

Tea leaves — his big move will be to get under the tax.

I really think with the report that the Pelicans are also interested in RoCo that we could really get a huge haul from them for CJ and RoCo. @Rastapopoulos had suggested a trade where CJ is sent to NOLA for Hart, Hayes, Satoransky and two Lakers first round picks that the Pelicans hold the rights to, he also had them sending us a second in that trade idea which I thought was probably something that would have to be left off in order to get the deal done but I thought the players and 2 firsts wasn't really far fetched at all considering that the reports have said that the Pelicans view CJ as being the missing piece that could complement what they already have. If they also want RoCo I think we could definitely be looking at acquiring those three players and three first rounders (Lakers 2022, 2024 and Bucks 2024) and probably even one of the many second round picks that the Pelicans can't be planning on using all of.

If Morey wants to try and win a championship this season and have the pieces that it would take to land Harden in a sign and trade in the off season I think he would have to seriously consider doing this because I think with the picks in this deal and Tobias Harris's contract they could definitely get the Nets to agree to a sign and trade for Harden. Harden, Norm, Thybulle, Larry, Embiid, Seth, Maxey and everything else they have coming off the bench would definitely be a contender for a while.

For us this deal would most likely mean a followup trade that sent Nurk to the highest bidder and playing this season out with Ant, Hart, Elleby (just to see what he could do with the role), Simmons and Hayes starting DSJ, BennyMac, Trendon and whatever Nurk yields off of the bench or possibly starting at SF instead of Elleby.

Then again I can't help wondering just how valuable Ant might be right now to a team like Boston. So I ask myself if we could do something like this (the trade with Boston and Toronto would be separate after the above trade but because of pieces from the first trade I just put them all together below). The Celtics would likely need to buyout Satoransky and do something with Fernando but if they value Ant as an all star level player right now like he's been playing with a much higher ceiling, it might make sense. Obviously this one is longer shot but the Celtics have to be looking to change things up and this does that and saves them money.

I could be thinking about a different convo. That would be great if we could trade him into a TPE. Then we wouldn't have to take Grahm back.
RoCo definitely fits into that TPE if you try it yourself on fanspo, you can click on the slashed out $ with TE under it and it explains it to you.

Great. Then I would just trade them Roco for the TPE and CJ, Snell, Zeller and Mac for Hart, Satoransky, Hayes and Jones. That's more than fair for them, so i would like a draft pick also. I would insist on Jones and I think they would do it; he is still not a proven commodity.

Lol. Might be the worst take this side of skip Bayless. Just wrong. It's factually wrong.
hes never been on the same level as lebron james, kevin durant, steph curry, giannis antetokounmpo, kawhi leonard, nikola jokic
